[NoTie4CP] Presidential Plans

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,

After my recent announcement to run for presidency - many thanks to those who voted and/or read it, I have decided to shed more lights on the specific plans and goals I have for the next governmental term.

Consistency
The key term of my campaign. Too many times have we seen revolutionary and great plans made by Presidential Candidates, resulting in confusion and inefficiency at best. What we have here now in March/April 2014 is a flexible, active and actually meaningful government team with excellent policies led by Aries Prime. It'd be foolish to not continue on the same path to the bright future and to instead steer off from this road, only to make a political or egoistical point or false promises.

I'll continue to give back to our citizens & to create at atmosphere suitable to this game (with war and excitement). I'll continue our approach to Aurora, so that one day we'll be an international player (again). You'll see many government members ''return'', but they'll be supported by additional promising assets from our eCountry, regardless of their party.

National Military Unit & Communes
Let's be honest on this: The current organisation of our military forces are a mess and leaves much to desire. 'Live and let live' works in most cases in eRepublik, but here it obviously doesn't work out that way. We have a situation in which our current state Military Units are divided, inefficient and unattractive, not to mention they lack all government facilities which one would expect to be available in a state MU. On the other hand we have private Military Units which act as quasi-governmental ones, with the possible disastrous consequences when military and politics intertwine.

For example, over the last few days we've seen leaders of Military Units openly disagreeing with state policies and actively fighting against it. This is a possibly dangerous and undesirable development, as they are responsible for large sections of our ePopulation who are left puzzled whether they should hold loyalty towards their country or towards their Unit. Except for these facts, having an organized military structure would make government initiated expeditions during National Tournaments (some are MU-based) easier and more profitable.

That's why I'll strive to deal with this matter, as many already tried to do so. In fact, we already have laid-out plans to merge our current State-MU's in one strong unit and to invest our stacks of gold into profitable and excellent Government Communes. This State-MU will get full state cooperation, recognition and privileges to give it a strong and attractive identity to make it an actual alternative to the other Units. Of course, private MU's should and will not be neglected, but will be 'private' again.

Rewriting the Law Book
Over the past few weeks it has become apparent that our current laws are dated and contains many loopholes. There have been some talks about rewriting it, but this discussion hasn't yet resulted into something constructive. That's why I as president will initiate a talk with the major eDutch parties to agree on a team to start the procedure of rewriting our laws. I have already been in talk with eDutch citizen Viglius - famous contributor to the previous CRAP law rewrite - and am looking forward to proceed on this matter.

Not entirely relevant to rewriting the law book, my government will also look into regulating and fixing the finances of the eNetherlands. It shouldn't be too pinned down, nor be too flexible, both policies we've seen over the past time. For this issue I hope to receive cooperation from the relevant financial experts in our eCountry.

Community
I'll give the eDutch community some additional focus during my presidential term. We've seen several charity projects and organizations started over the past months. Some even have tried to include role playing into this, like setting up an eDutch ''Monarchy'' (NB: currently unrecognized and unofficial). Most successful is the Ministry of Health. I certainly think initiatives like these are the best way to combine individual and governmental efforts to help our citizens and I'll personally take care to have our citizens benefit the fullest of these efforts.

Another point I'd like to address is the one of Congress. I have always been proponent of the eNetherlands having a large Congress to stimulate activity within the Community. The current 10 Congress Seats are simply not enough for the eNetherlands. If we had dealt with the Poland Resistance War a little more organized and/or extended the campaign in Baja, Mexico just a few more hours we could have had 30 Congress Members. However unlikely to succeed, I'll act upon the wish for a bigger Congress when the opportunity arises.

I'm especially excited to set-up a 'National Library'. Since the establishment of our eCountry, we've seen many memorable events happen. These 'events' also include parodies, articles, treaties and so on. Many of our older players do reference to these events a lot of times, sparking interest in foreigners and newer players. It'd help our national identity to archive several key events from our eDutch history in this 'Library' for all to read (more easier).

Recruits
We've all seen Country Presidents filling State Secretarial positions in random Ministries with newer citizens, in the hope they'll get active and experienced. The majority of times this approach is a complete failure: There is no synergy between the Minister and new State Secretary, the State Secretary is confused and receives no tasks or directions. In the worst case, we'll shoo them away for ever from wanting to serve actively for our eCountry.

That's why I'll introduce the ''Recruit'' position. In this position, a new politician will get access to all governmental areas, but will not be part of a specific Ministry and will receive no specific tasks. This way they can get used to the people and practices in the government and be ''upgraded'' or tasked when the opportunity arises when the desire is still there. I already have several people in mind for this position, but applications are open for everyone. So feel free to send me a message about it!
