[NoTie] The Ranking That Matters

Day 5,251, 06:39 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by NoTie112
Dear citizens and readers,

As you may know, I occasionally like to check our the progress of our citizens in ranking up. Especially in the backdrop of the disastrous occupation we endured last year by CODE this has become paramount to ensure such events never happen against, at least not in the duration of last year. High ranked citizens hitting at the same time (‘damage per second’ for the eRepublik addicts) are key to winning battles and certainly to make any (inevitable) occupation painful to uphold and short in duration.

First things first. The last 2 weeks of the Spring Event were great for the Netherlands. We even managed to do 1 trillion damage last week alone, the amount of damage that we in the past only achieved when we spent all our stocks in wars. So let us dive in more deeply and see what people are mostly responsible for that, and what people could do more.

In roughly 3 months we see some significant improvements, but also some stand-still. These people can be roughly divided in the following groups (obviously this isn’t 100% accurate):

• Fast Movers: People like Jordic69 and Weekstrom are obviously ‘done’ in regards to ranking. People like Fosite, Arcanic Legend, Zeeuwsmeisje, Shawtyl0w, Ynotna, BlackWidow9, Fmcv and SpeeD94 are aiming to join them soon. They are always in every epic the Netherlands organizes and are active and approachable enough that they can be war winners.

• Casual: People like MafCeez, Lord.jax, 911mic, Pieter Sjoerdsma Gebrandy, NoTie112, and Jumong are remotedly active in ranking up and often show up in epics. They may not always prioritize ranking up, perhaps by their focus on air battles. For higher strength people like 911mic and MafCeez more could be achieved.

• Standstill: Some of our people barely show up in our organized epics and miss out on a lot of rank points. Often they miss out on free ranking points during events too. People like djirtsdew, Rainy Sunday and Ezrail have significant strength that is left unused.

• Not enough data: The Netherlands has an open society and new people often join us. Therefore it is hard to get a feeling about everyone. Some of these people may not even want to achieve protector points for the Netherlands per se. Nevertheless two of our most strongest people (Rineke and vgriquel) are still Titan while there is no reason to be.

What can be done to become even better? To reiterate a previous article:

* If one has high strength, it makes no sense to drop most of your energy into air battles. Not only in the interest of the eNetherlands, but individually as well. After the rank of Wing Commander additional effort in this branch pale in comparison to the significant individual improvement that can be achieved in ground damage with a high level of strength.

* If one has high strength, it makes no sense to not 'tank' a bit on the first day of the week and use most energy the remainder of the week. Provided one can log-in a few times a day to drop excess energy, the lost Energy Bars will come back through the Weekly Challenge - besides the extra energy to gain gold and cc through Battle Heroes and True Patriot medals. This in turn can be used to buy stuff during sales, packs or the Power Spin.

* If one has high strength, it makes no sense to not use the epics we create at the beginning of every week. Our 2 Legend XX Jordic69 and Weekstrom often bleed more than they have to, so others can rank up quicker. A free D4 epic should be utilized by everyone - for the rank points, True Patriot money and to get a nice start on the Weekly Challenge and energy regain.

* If one has high strength, it makes no sense to fight in foreign (epic) ground battles. Since the Armory/Protector update fighting in foreign battle does barely anything for damage output for your own country besides the little improvement in rank. You will improve your protector bonus for the foreign country, not the eNetherlands. Fighting for the eNetherlands also leads to significant more damage and therefore ranking points. If one is not yet maxed out on protector points for the eNetherlands, it is therefore recommendable to not fight for foreign countries at all when there are Dutch alternatives.

* If one has high strength, it may be worthwhile to get packs (Maverick or Power Pack!). This doesn't necessarily require the spending of real life money. If one fights often for the eNetherlands with True Patriot money or has significant production, it is possible to buy at least a Power Pack with in-game currency. There are sellers that will sell to eDutch people for a good price.
