The Ministry of Information for the eCountry of the Netherlands proudly presents:
This is a contest being run by the Ministry of Information to see who is the Mastermind of the Netherlands. It will run throughout the rest of the month of April and continue through the month of May. Anyone is welcome to compete; all you need to do to apply is comment below by listing your name, occupation and specialist subject (more on that in a minute). This competition will be a bracketed competition in groups of three to four. Winners of each group will be guaranteed a spot in the semifinals, with spots available for the highest-scoring non-group winners. A lot of this will be dependent on how the bracket is set up and will be addressed in the next article, but all of the details will be made clear in due time. Eventually, we will narrow the field down to a four-person final with the following prizes being awarde

The thing that makes Mastermind so unique is that in the first round of play, you get to choose what topic you’ll be answering questions on. We call this the “specialist subject” round, and we will use it as our first round to begin narrowing the field. As stated earlier, we’d like for you to say what specialist subject you want to have questions on. A couple of guidelines:
We want your specialist subject to be something obscure; something that most people wouldn’t be able to answer questions on; but also something broad enough that we can write 10 questions on the subject.
Think outside the box! What may seem like common knowledge to you may be totally obscure to the rest of the Mastermind community. If you have any special hobbies, then rephrase one of them into a specialist subject category, and you should be good to go.
