[MoC] King of the Community

Day 2,436, 08:37 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish Community
As previously stated the MoC is launching new initiative to kick start the Irish Media. When there are not even five articles to fill out the top five spots or an article gets in with only a few votes then something needs to be done.

So to improve the quantity and quality of the press the MoC ( Raven mostly) came up with this idea.

What do you need to do to enter the Initiative? Write articles of course.

Write an article and post the link in the comments section of the latest MoC article or pm us here with the links. Then sit back and receive your praises.

The Media Initiative will have two distinct parts. Both are open and begin upon the publication of this article.

1) The first part is a league that runs monthly.

This is where points are awarded to each article, added up, and put on a scoreboard/leader-board. The leader-board will be updated every two/three days and posted in an article. The person with the highest number of points at the end of the contest wins. The winner at the end of this presidential term will receive 10g

Here is how the points system works:

NB: Publishers will receive points based on readers and comments. So you must add a reader counter to the article.

To add a reader counter just copy the link provided by this website into your own article.

*Two points for every reader over 20.
*1 point for every 5 comments. (Comments such as “voted” or “nice article” etc… will not be considered in the point totals. Replies also are not counted as extra comments. We are trying to improve the quality of the media and that includes the thoughts of the readers as well as the publishers. So it you like an article tell the publisher why.)
*-1 point for consistent poor spelling and grammar (exceptions will be made for non native english speakers.)
*-2 points for trolling or insulting. (Trolling consists of but is not limited to: Personally Insulting another individual for their views and/or opinions, irrelevant criticism of an article/individual, insulting other players with rl issues etc….)

2) The second part is the grading system by the members of the MoC.

As articles are graded by the MoC staff you will have to reach certain criteria to advance to the next level in the Initiative. Banners will be released shortly for each rank that an individual can add to their newspaper to show they are of a certain rank.

Here is how the grading system works::

Each article will be judged on three categories. Each category is based out of 10 and an average score is gathered for the final grade of a piece.
*Genuine effort in the piece (ie did the author take time out to write this article or is it a simple two liner)
*Quality of Article (ie Is this article of genuine value to the community. Does it inform us or give an opinion on a certain subject or is it simple trolling.)
*Fluence of article ( Does the article flow well. Are they straying off topic or is their point clear throughout the article)

************Points will reset every month but publishers will keep advancing up the category ranks.**************
