[Fataliix4CP] Surprisingly Not an April Fools!

Day 2,689, 13:24 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Fataliix

That's right! Despite the date, I really am running for Country President. I have made the daring decision to formally announce my candidature for CP in the midst of a UK media filled with incredibly serious articles.

On the back of a vote result that would make North Korea proud, as well as many months of experience as an outstanding placeholder candidate, I'd like the honour of leading you lot over the next month. Congress have witnessed my work as MoFA first-hand and you've all seen the fruits of that labour, as you can still find the UK on the map - at least I hope you can!
But enough about my recent accomplishments...

What am I going to do this month?

I'd like to see the UK continue on its path towards reclaiming a seat among the leading nations. This is a journey which began with our spectacular performance during Resource Wars, and with our new MPPs and other diplomatic stuff our destination is in sight. Militarily, we now hit much harder than nations that, in recent memory, were considered our "equals". This is fantastic, but I know that we can do better. We're going to see if we can't lure the best of the best to our shores.

This leads me to the inevitable discussion of TG upgrades. I have long been a vocal supporter of grants and, pending Congress approval, would like to actively seek out the players that could benefit most from receiving a grant. No more half-arsing the idea. Loans, both TG and Contracts, will still run for others, but I think we can do a better job of advertising them. My cabinet won't sit on their hands and do nothing - if we want to be stronger in a years' time we need to lay the foundation today.

My government will be competent, active and work to keep you informed. That sounds like an incredibly obvious statement but it's in stark contrast to some recent circumstances. Ministers will have plenty of room to have some fun with their work and hopefully we can bring some entertainment to the rest of you.

With regards to failing ministries, I have no qualms with replacing a Minister that isn't pulling their weight. We have a wealth of experience in the UK and deserve a government that reflects that. For example, it would be unacceptable to see the MoD unstaffed for four days. I'll ensure that we don't see that happen again.

Your MoD over the past month; my government will be able to hold their drink

So you like clicking the same button over and over, do ya?

Well have I got news for you! After a month in which the most exciting fight we had was swatting aside a Montenegrin airstrike as if they were arriving in a paper airplane, I know we're all wanting to rack up some TP damage. I'm not sure what form WARAWR! will come in, be it direct, airstrike or training war, but I promise that I will tirelessly search for somewhere for you to show off.

Did anyone actually notice the Montenegrin airstrike?...

In my next article, on Friday, I will go into much greater detail on my plans for each ministry as well as revealing your government for the next month. I'd hate to overdo it on the first article, but rest assured that there is a lot I haven't covered, especially with regards to Home and Foreign Affairs and how you can get involved.

Thank you for all the support so far, and if you're undecided I hope you'll give me the opportunity to change your mind over the next few days.

This last month has been bollocks. Let's not do that again, aye?
