[DMV4CP] And then there were Three!

Day 2,504, 10:46 Published in Canada Canada by DMV3

I have wanted to run for CP again for the last couple of months, but I haven't for various reasons. Last month I wanted to run, but TheSmoke wanted to run and he had not been CP before, so I decided running wouldn't be fair of me. Luckily I didn't, because he did an amazing job. His performance was far superior to anything I could have hoped to do, and for that reason I am glad he was given the chance to prove himself.

Similarly I had contemplated staying out of this month's race to give someone who has worked very hard for eCanada a shot to prove themselves in the CP chair, unfortunately with Rylde declaring it's not really a fair race. Any former CP who can do the job has an advantage over someone who has never been CP. It might not be particularly fair, but that is the case. It is for this reason I have decided to throw my hat into the ring. With the current front-runner being a former CP I do not feel obligated to sit out this election.

Foreign Affairs

I wish to be CP again and now is the time we need a strong foreign affairs agenda as alliances look as if they will be shaking up again in the very near future. Over the last few days I spent time laying down groundwork for the eventual break up of the major alliances in an attempt to pave the way for Canada to be a major player in foreign affairs. I published articles in every Asteria nation over the last three days reminding them what a good ally Canada has been and showing them we have a desire to play the game at the next level. This is not to say we do not appreciate our current allies, but with alliance restructuring imminent it is time Canada steps up as the diplomatic powerhouse we have become.

It is my promise to the people of Canada that I will not settle for membership in a subservient alliance. Canada has worked extremely hard in previous months to build up our standing in the international community, and as CP I will bring this to its logical conclusion, admittance into a major alliance.

Domestic Affairs

While I plan on putting much emphasis on Foreign Affairs, I have never considered myself a Foreign Affairs CP. Through my time in the eUS, community has always been a big focus of mine. In eCanada I have attempted to focus on the community as well. With the help of crisfire I pushed CPF to relaunch the Praetors as a means of creating a place for Division one and two players to become active. If elected CP I will be putting substantial focus on building up our community through programs aimed at driving activity and through entertainment.

On top of community building, the next will have to focus on killing off the PTO threat. While I have largely done the work of coordinating ATO outside of any government position or oversight I believe ATO is too important to not be a focus of the government. It for this reason I will be creating the Ministry of Internal Security and Intelligence. The sole purpose of the Ministry will be to gather intelligence and to coordinate ATO operations with the parties to kill off the PTO once and for all.

Conclusion

As Rylde so eloquently put it, when given a task I tackle it with all the zeal of a crackhead looking for a fix. While I may be a controversial figure, no one can doubt my dedication or leadership abilities. It is for these reason I believe I will make an excellent choice for CP in October.
