[Colin] Day 2939 Albanian Eyes..

Day 2,938, 19:41 Published in Albania USA by Colin Lantrip 3

.

First off, before we really get into things.. I'd like to congratulate AlbRepublik on an impressive win in the most recent CP elections here in Albania. I am very happy that we are finally able to put an active young Albanian in the position and I have high hopes for him and the team he has assembled.

Prime Minister - RednBlacksoldier
MoD - Bd the white wolf
Govenor - E R M A L
Education - Amarildo Memia

I will be staying on as Dictator serving the wishes of the elected government while also serving as MoFA and hopefully helping these guys develop into their own.

If you want to be involved and get started somewhere, Education always needs workers. Helping new players is the single easiest way to make yourself an asset and develop your own voice here.

Recent US and other tensions

It's been a slow and sometimes painful process shedding myself of an American perspective and looking at things through Albanian eyes. There has been occasional tension, especially recently, from former allies and former countrymen expecting me to put aside Albanian interest for their own. It's not negotiations or "making arrangements" that provide for all parties interested.. I do plenty of that and have no problem with compromise where everyone gets some of what they need to save face and walk away. It's pressure, it's acting like what they want should somehow matter more than what we need or that I personally owe them..

I've done far more for most than they realize or will ever be called on to do for me. The list of people I owe anything to would be very short and I would never need to be reminded of it. If you want to come to me looking for a solution, looking for help, looking for compromise.. I'm usually available and reasonable. But if you want to come at me making demands or threats.. you've come to the wrong place. There is nothing you can threaten us with and there is nothing you can take from us that we need or can't take back. Albanians don't play Farmerville and I really don't have to worry about getting elected.

I need an MU, a pile of cc and a few PM's to burn down anything out there. Just don't do it.. none of us actually want that. It's a war game now and there's going to be war.. but mostly I am perfectly happy building an Albania from the scraps and extra regions I can piece together, taking some of what we need and trying to offer something in return. But I will not be threatened, I will not be bullied and I will not sit by while my closest allies are brutalized and run over by mean little kids just because they think it's funny.

Current Alb Wars/Occupations

Admittedly, the MTO in Canada was a bad decision. I am not immune to the bouts of emotion and ego that most of us here have suffered from at one time or another. If anyone is not aware.. we wrecked their MPP's while leaving their money, cit passes and orgs alone. We sold the MTO MU to the first Canadian CP that wasn't Rylde (10k cc I think).

We currently occupy 4 regions of Canada costing them 1 bonus. I have approached them more than once this past month trying to arrange some sort of rental "deal".

France - We approached them today about peace and have offered and would like a very similar arrangement to the one we want in Canada. 4 regions with rent, they lose 1 bonus. We have also offered what in my mind are some pretty exceptional security guarantees for a non-allied country. The peace and prosperity the area has enjoyed with our presence is not the historical norm. An informed person could easily argue that France and the UK should be paying tribute to Albania at this point.. not a serious suggestion, just making a point about the favorable conditions in the area.

Sweden - We returned 1 of the 5 regions we held yesterday and plan to eventually release another as well. For the time being though, we will attempt to hold the 3 southern regions and provide protection for Denmark/Germany. They occupied Denmark rent free in the past and used this area to attack our UK allies last month in a 3 on 1 attack. We're releasing what we don't need, but I don't have much sympathy for them. It's been discussed briefly, but given their history, we likely won't be trying to pay rent. Not any time soon for sure.

This article was actually supposed to be about Albanian allies.. our friends, our priorities and how we view a few of the situations in the world currently. It's already too long.. I guess it's just an Alb Update now and maybe I get to the actual point next time?

Thanks!
Colin
