Ever wanted to overthrow the president, government and Congress? To ignore the constitution and enslave the whole nation under your fist? To decide everything by yourself? Now it’s possible! By doing a Military Coup, you could become a Dictator and write a new chapter in the history of your eCountry.

In eRepublik, Dictators emerge from Military Units. Only a proven military leader has enough power and strength to single handedly rule an entire nation. Support is needed, though, and other Military Units have a difficult decision to make: whether to support democracy and have faith in the current leadership, or to trust the Dictator to know what’s best for the country.


We are here today to bring you a first-hand account of a 'friendly' dictator, our old friend Garmr. He is going to give us some first-hand insight into how it works, how easy it is, and some of the mechanics.

AA First things first. who the f*** are you?

Garmr I'm Garmr, sort of the Pfeiffer of the awesome dictatorial state of the eNetherlands.

AA How'd you get started in this game we call erepublik?

Garmr I actually saw some intense spam from Americans on an online message board because of their summer invasion of '09. So I registered at erep but was too greedy to use his referral link.

AA Did you say you were at UNI? What are you studying?

Garmr I'm studying philosophy and mastering in brain and cognitive science.

AA How Large are your biceps?

Garmr My biceps measures about 43cm, so 17 inch.

AA When did you last get laid?

Garmr A gentleman never tells, so last weekend.

AA What is your drink of choice?

Garmr Drink of choice is stolichnaya elit + coke / walker black label + coke.

AA So, you are a dictator. When and why did eNL decide to go ahead with this plan? Was it discussed in Congress?

Garmr We discussed it on irc with the main people and then moved on to propose it to congress, where there was unanimous agreement it was a very smart idea to install our own dictator.

AA Have you had to fight off any revolutions yet? Have you encountered any bugs?

Garmr No revolutions, we're keeping the socialists and communists down with the Garmr State Police. Yeah, bugs all over.

AA Can you describe some of the bugs, giving us specific examples?

Garmr I have no citizenship passes and the DO was gone for most of the day. I haven't been able to fight in other dictatorship wars since I fought in the Serbian dictatorship war.

AA I noticed you haven't propsed anything yet? Nothing to propose or another bug?

Garmr Nothing to propose, we're a super chill country, no noob WT amendments and such haha.

AA Seriously, though, are you concerned about revolutions?

Garmr Revolutions are probably not too big of a threat, only idiots pay 200k for a medal

AA And I've read that CP elections go forward as usual, but don't mean anything. Is that your understanding?

Garmr In NL we're keeping a symbolic dictator, CP can still run a cabinet and congress can still do their meta game votes and such.

AA Becaues technically the CP election won't mean anything right?

Garmr I'm just the pretty boy that pushes buttons. Well, CP's officially dont have power over the orgs, but I let them use it.

AA Any suggestions for the eUS, if we go through with a government sponsored dictarship?

Garmr Not really, aside from strongly suggesting to install a dictator. Oh, and to have all MU's become invite-only, so you dont get foreign idiots on the democracy side.

AA Why do you suggest that it be done?

Garmr If USA ever wants to wage a serious war, the first thing that'll happen is a CW against it and they will lose initiative.

AA Did it feel way too easy to install one in eNL?

Garmr It was easy in NL because we planned it and nobody bothered to interfere, it was difficult to become member of a Dutch MU.

AA I suppose we would have to sponsor a Government CW every 24 hours to avoid that situation, but that's a lot of money. It is an interesting addition that Plato has added. Would you say you like or dislike it overall from the eNL perspective? If you were in a large country, would you feel differently?

Garmr It is another money grab from Plato, but we've become experts at dealing with those by now. If I were a larger country I'd try to install some dictators in sattelite states in case they'd ever come in handy.

AADo you have any 'extra' buttons?

AA I don't see any medals on your page, did you not get the dictator medal?

Garmr They haven't added the medals ingame yet, I believe the developers got too excited when they thought of the money being spent that they released it before fixing everything.

AA "Hello, Mr. Dictator" that seems rather funny to me. Any last words, or prophecies to share?

Garmr I made a prophecy two months ago that USA was going to MPP Serbia within 4 months, that would be fun to see happen.

AA I have been pushing for that for over a year, brah, and people think I'm crazy. We shall see.

Garmr It's getting closer.
