Second PP Address INCOMING! … No stopping us this term, we’re on a roll and the Media Train just ain’t stopping.

This was one of the things I wanted to be one of my personal focuses. As Party President, there is a certain expectation on you to lead by example … And considering for every Party President the party has had for the past year or so, I have harped on at them about putting Media out … Well, I’m putting my money where my mouth is >: 3!

ON WITH THE SHOW!

The opening moves

One of the biggest burst of activity is during the initial week, where people are transitioning from department to department, transferring documents over to their replacements, receiving them from the people they are replacing. It can get a bit hectic and sometimes, despite all the internal activity, external activity with the people of the game/nation, suffers.

So far, we’re avoiding that. We’ve been busy internally, prepping idea’s, getting feedback from one another on plans and outlines … But we’ve also constantly been looking at ways we can get these across faster and my efficiently, and that leads me to my first announcement -

A WEEKLY NEWSLETTER!

Now, I know some people will be like “But … why can’t you just write an article?” My response is, the newsletter isn’t for everyone - It’s tailored and specifically made for AMP Members, to let them know how their party’s departments are doing, what they’ve been up to and plans for the future. I suppose you could say it’s the closest we’ll get to Largo’s Public PDB’s without revealing all the stuff we wanted to keep private (Like personal, unpopular opinions).

Currently, I’m of the idea that the newsletter will be hosted in a Google Document that will be MM’ed to all the party, the difference from our usual MM’s is that it won’t be handled by the Communications Department like all the others … Instead as well as creating/editing the newsletter, I will also PERSONALLY be MMing it out to the party. Gotta get my hands dirty in grunt work sometimes right? :3

You guys can expect the first edition on Saturday 23rd August 😃

But the media train don’t stop there!

In addition to that, I’m adding another thing onto my workplate! I mentioned in my last article that I was bringing back AMP Radio. Now, I’m aware that some of the party may not be aware we had a Radio show, so for indulgence’s sake, I will give a brief recap of how AMP Radio began, evolved … and died.

Over a year ago, there were actually 3-5 Radio Show’s constantly airing in the eUS - You had the government’s eNPR (Which recently made its re-debut!), Fed Radio (Which never stopped I believe, good on you guys), Jude Connor’s Radiostar, maybe a couple of others that passed under my radar (my apologies) … And AMP Radio.

It was conceived by Dr Luis Sentieirio as a means of competing (In a sense) with eNPR and providing a Party-Based Radio Media Platform. Hosted on BlogTalkRadio (Like eNPR), the show was always moderate, taking off occasionally, sometimes remaining flat. Eventually, the show was taken over by Saraht0ga, who took the show in a less serious direction, introducing more musical selections and infusing it with her own delightful hosting abilities.

The show eventually departed from BlogTalkRadio after hosting issues, and a replacement was eventually found in the form of Mixlr. By this time, it was reaching it’s peak - AMP Radio broadcast 3 times a week by 2 different people: Sarah on Monday with her Music and Quiz Show, Myself on Wednesday’s with a Topic Conversation Show with Jack Mensley, and Both Sarah and Myself on Friday’s where we would just goof off together and other callers.

However, things take their toll, and eventually, the show’s started winding down as we became burnt out. The last official AMP Radio show was, if I remember, briefly before my little trip to New York in Late-September 2013 to meet up with Sarah, and was never revived after that since most of us felt the medium was drying up and dying (Around the same time, eNPR too was winding down with dwindling listeners).

So after all that, why bring it back? Why not just let it die as a happy memory? 1) - I’m a terrible person. 2) - I want to try and use Radio to reach out to a new audience who haven’t really experienced Party Radio before. Some oldfags will be nostalgic (I always fondly remember calling in to eNPR and talking with people like Artela, Pfeiffer, and yes, even Oblige), and I hope they’ll get behind it as well.

The return of AMPR (AMP Radio) will be on Friday, 22nd August at 17:00 eRep at http://mixlr.com/john-killah/. Get there early enough, and maybe you can suggest a song to be played 😉

That’s all for the moment

I can’t write about every single thing we’ve been doing … I don’t have the time, you don’t have the attention sp … STOP STARING AT THE SHINY SPOON! … attention span, and some people don’t want their idea’s public just yet and maybe would like to announce them for themselves, which is great. The More Media the Better!

I would expect to have another article out around Next Tuesday, more than likely to talk about how we did in the Congressional Elections. If you are in the AMP and would like to run for congress, you have little time left! Get your butts over to http://www.ampforums.info/forum/thread-799.html and declare yourself!
