[Ad4CP] Yes, it's that time again...

Day 2,473, 17:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Addaway

As you clever people may have worked out from the title of this article, I’m once again tossing my hat in the ring and running to be your next Country President. We’ve had a good month under Wayne and the DC Junta, so I’m hoping to be the guy to carry on the success into September.

So just who am I?

I hate doing these ‘eCV’ bits so I’ll try to keep this brief 😛

Stuff I’ve done: Congress x4, vCP x2, MoHA x1

I’ve been hanging around the eUK for a little over a year now, having put myself forwards to be CP once before in May; when I ended up not appearing on the final results after some weird glitch (it just wouldn’t be eRep without glitches would it now?)

I ended up being vCP to ACroc during his May term, taking charge of the organisation of the ATO effort, keeping track of around 130 mobile voters that were used to secure all of the top 7 parties on the 15th (before the V sh*tstorm engulfed the eUK for the following three months). I was also vCP in January, so I think I have the requisite understanding of all the government srs bsns that you need to be CP.

Some Key Ideas

I’m going to be expanding on all of my plans (including the ones written below) for a potential Adastros CP term in my later two articles, but I thought I should put down what will be the some of the central themes of my run for CP:

- Minister-led Government: For me, the ministries should be run primarily by the ministers, not micro-managed from above by the CP and his vCPs as some governments have had. If I’m CP, a hands off approach to managing the government will be the order of business. I won’t be fussing constantly over government departments, I’ll just appoint the senior minister in each area and let them get on with running their own departments. They can choose how many people they want, who they want and what job they want them to do. I’ll just give each ministry a set of objectives I’d like them to try and work towards, and then its up to them; with me only getting involved if things start to go wrong.

- Proper Financial Budgets: An Overhaul of the way the government conducts its finances and its relationship with Congress. At the start of the term I will put all government money with the exception of 50,000cc in emergency funds into the Country Accounts. I’ll then submit budgets for each ministry to Congress for them to approve. At the end of my term all remaining money will again go back into the Country Accounts, ready to be re-issued to the next CP. This is designed to both empower Congress and give them productive things to discuss, as well as improving transparency and acting as a safeguard to ensure whole scale theft doesn’t happen again.

Sums up Congress’s traditional attitude to giving money to the CP

- Accountability: Congress will be invited to form four focus groups focusing on each of the government ministries, to scrutinise what my government is getting up to and how the ministers are spending the money that Congress granted them. There will also be Regular PMQ sessions to be chaired by the Speaker of Congress. I’ll make myself available for a question session at least once a week.

So yeah, that’s about it for my first article- I got three more to come before polling day.

Stay tuned.
