Why Is Canada Awesome?
Thedillpickl
Hi kids!
Today we will explore why Canada is just so damned awesome. Through the years some may not have thought Canada to be all that great but she has proven to be quite a country. Let's take a look.
The Begining
"In 1867, the Province of Canada was joined with two other British colonies of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia through Confederation, forming a self-governing entity named Canada. The new dominion expanded by incorporating other parts of British North America, finishing with Newfoundland and Labrador in 1949."*
So while others (we won't mention here -cough- USA -cough-) ran the British off, Canada was happy to be loyal subjects as long as the King paid for stuff.
"The passing of the Statute of Westminster in 1931 recognized that Canada had become co-equal with the United Kingdom. After the Constitution was patriated in 1982, the final vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament were removed."* To be nice we celibrate Victoria Day in May to honor the birthday of Queen Victoria. We just like the feel of a good Monarchy.

Don't Mess With Canada!
"On August 24, 1814, after defeating the Americans at the Battle of Bladensburg, a British force led by Major General Robert Ross burned down buildings including the White House (known as the Presidential Mansion), and the Capitol, as well as other facilities of the U.S. government. The attack was in part a retaliation for the recent American destruction of Port Dover in Upper Canada. The Burning of Washington marks the only time since the American Revolutionary War that a foreign power has captured and occupied the United States capital."** (my emphasis)

Booyah!
Our Friends
"Canada and the Netherlands have a special relationship resulting from actions during World War II when Canadian forces led the liberation of the Netherlands and hosted the Dutch Royal Family in exile. The special relationship is still visible today, with the Canadian government describing the Netherlands as 'one of Canada's most significant trade, investment and innovation partners.' In part, the Canadian Tulip Festival still commemorates this relationship."***

We also evicted Croatia recently, with great help from our friends. (Never said we could do it alone.) Damn it's nice to have folks you can count on.

1867, seriously !? I will never be able to stand out how Anglos do like to rewrite the history, even when it's just there on the wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Canada

Thank you for posting. Wish it were sooner so more could have seen this.
To be honest, I'm a real life US citizen pretending to be Canadian in game. I've been here a long time and have taken quite an interest in the history of Canada and Kanata, from the Iroquoian word. As you point out my article is slanted toward the Anglo history for two reasons. First to keep it short. If it were all inclusive I would have just copied the entire history. Second, The French settlement was seperate in the beginning. Confusing enough with upper and lower Canada.
I do realize the seperate contingent in game. You play a different group than the rest of us. I wish it were different but do have some understanding. My apology for any offense.
