Why I would be a good CPF Congressional Candidate

Day 1,795, 07:28 Published in Canada Canada by Umbra Bellator

Let me first start off with our foreign affairs policies and current actions.

eCanada has chosen to support her allies at all costs. We NE’d Spain to help Portugal and Columbia RW some of their regions. As we pushed that button Poland pushed the same one against us, and could occupy our lands for a long time and create and endless run of RW’s that will grow tiresome and drive eCanadians away. While I support the decision to lend a hand to our allies, I am not sure there was enough discussion or forward thinking as to what it meant for eCanada and the best way to do so. For example, we attacked Spain once and it really didn’t accomplish much in the ways of helping the allies RW efforts. I know ElPatoDiablo is doing what he thinks is best for eCanada, I would just like the opportunity to be in congress and be able to help congress and our CP come to a final decision. Now we find ourselves in the same situation with Poland, where we are RW and defending at the same time as we lose more land each day. So if I was in congress I would do my best to make sure that everything is considered, I know that the 3rd tenet was being followed and I support and believe in the 7 tenets, however you cant just say the tenet said to support our allies so I did this. We need to explore all options and have a vocal congress that brainstorms various ways of doing things in an efficient manner.

Financial Sustainability will be a very tough nut to crack if Poland decides to occupy us for an extended period of time (which they could with little effort). Not only will our production drop, but our population, eCitizens interest level and coin purse. If occupied we will be generating less taxes and spending more money funding RW’s in an effort to get back on the map. It will be a very difficult task. Some MU’s have been making some big strides into getting closer to self-sufficiency, which will take some burden off of the government, and some are already there. Every time we increase the taxes we need to consider 2 main things: 1 – Most players don’t understand what that means and they wont adjust their prices to maintain a consistent level of earnings, which drives prices down, limits tax revenue and hurts eCanadians. 2 – People will buy elsewhere. If eCanadians can get product elsewhere cheaper then they will, times are tough and they probably don’t understand the reasons behind tax increases and the game mechanics beyond working, training and fighting. Most of eRep are 2 clickers and only do certain things while trying to increase their wealth in whatever way they can.

I have spoken to some people in various MUs recently as to how things are there and where they are going. Most have visions of increased activity, better environment and providing their soldiers with the best weapons possible. The weapons issue will be tough as MU funding is limited at best, but it is nice to see strides in other areas of MUs to make them more appealing and are getting players more active. Timed strikes are popping up all over, contests, awards more involved leaders and putting more power in the soldiers hands. I feel the MU system in eCanada is improving but the infrastructure is still behind. I don’t have a solution for the MU funding, but I would love the opportunity to brainstorm with Congress on it.

Recruiting in this game is always a hot topic for eCanada. We don’t have a big number of players somewhere in the 30’s I believe in rankings. I feel we should be able to break the 2000 eCitizen number relatively easy, but being occupied by Poland is likely to do the opposite. I feel recruiting for eCanada is a priority. As far as recruiting for the CPF (the party I am in) I feel that Funky Hum24n has hit it on the head with his recent article. The CPF grew very quickly and has lost some of it values and dedication. It is flooded with yes men who are reading the odd article and voting for the candidates we support or the parties come congressional elections. We need to stop focusing on growth in numbers and re-focus on the growth of the knowledge bank the CPF can bring to the table. There are a lot of smart and active people in the CPF, we just need them to speak up more often. If the CPF loses the #1 ranked party status it wont be a big dal, the CPF is not a #1 party if it has no vision. The CPF was the #1 party before they had they most members and their growth spurt has only hindered that ranking.

While I am talking about the CPF there is one more issue that seems to be an on again off again topic. The internal activity of the party. While there are a few members who regularly post on the feed, it is only a sliver of the total membership, which only shows how many yes-men there are out there. We need to re-ignite the discussion, whether it is forums, iRC, the feed or the Moose Call(mass PM) we need to get the others back into the fray. In a recent Moose call I believe the largest number of respondents in some time chimed in. This of course was to gauge interest for the Congressional elections, and a reason I am writing this article. It is a positive sign to see so many interested in running for congress and I look forward to seeing everyone of their articles to see what their view points are and what they can bring to the table.

So when you see my name on the candidate list for the CPF’s congress, take note of all the other names, because you can rest assured that they will all have as much to give as me, and bring the same level of passion to better eCanada.
