Some of you may have noticed, that since yesterday there is a second candidate in the presidental elections: me, Borojevic von Bonjar. This fact leads to the question if I am fitting for such an important an powerful position as the Country Presidency. Probably some eAustrian citizens would answer this with "no", until recently I may have done the same. But things have not turned out the way I expected in the last few days.

Why am I running then? In my oppinon, a living democracy (as eAustria) needs three things: information (about the economical/political/etc situation), freedom (of media/oppinion/etc.) and - also very important - a choice. An election without choice and opposition - having only one candidate with 100% "approval" - reminds me too much of stalinistic times, that I could let this happen. Until yesterday I saw - to my biggest surprise - Alfred Ball unopposed, no other person seemed to be willing to step forward. So I did the only thing I thought being honourable - candidating.

So here I am, running as a "second choice", as an alternative for Alfred Ball. And it comes to my mind, what if more people put trust in me than I have ever expected and I would become the next eAustrian president. I can assure every eAustrian citizens, if young or old, if speaking German or English that I will do everything I am able to, to serve my country as I have always done before. Tomorrow you are going to find my plans for my (hypothetical) presidentship in the media. And as they say - "you grow with your tasks".


Warum ich kandidiere

Einige von euch haben vermutlich bemerkt, dass es seit gestern einen zweiten Kandidaten für die Präsidentschaftswahlen gibt: mich, Borojevic von Bonjar. Diese Tatsache führt zu der Frage, ob ich für ein so machtvolle und wichtige Position geeignet bin, wie die Präsidentschaft. Vermutlich würden einige eösterreichischen Bürger dies mit einem "Nein" beantworten, bis vor kurzem hätte ich vielleicht dasselbe getan. Aber die Dinge haben sich in den letzten Tagen anders entwickelt als ich angenommen haben.

Warum kandidiere ich dann? Ich finde, dass eine lebendige Demokratie drei Dinge braucht: Information (über die wirtschaftliche/soziale/etc. Situation), Freiheit (der Medien/Meinung/etc.) und - auch sehr wichtig - eine Wahlmöglickeit. Eine Wahl ohne Wahlmöglichkeit und Opposition - mit nur einem Kandidaten mit 100% "Zustimmung" - erinnert mich viel zu sehr an stalinistische Zeiten, als dass ich es zulassen könnte. Bis gestern sah ich - zu meiner größten Verwunderung - Alfred Ball ohne Widersacher, keine andere Person schien gewillt zu sein vorwärts zu treten. Also tat ich das einzige, was ich als ehrenhaft ansah - kandidieren.

Hier bin ich also, als "zweite Wahl" kandidierend, als Alternative für Alfred Ball. Und es kommt mir in den Sinn, was wäre wenn mir mehr Leute Vertrauen schenken, als ich jemals angenommen hätte und ich nächster Präsident werden würde. Ich kann jedem eösterreichsichen Bürger versprechen, ob jung oder alt, ob deutsch- oder englischsprachig, dass ich alles in meiner Macht stehende tun werde um meinem Land zu dienen, wie schon immer zuvor. Morgen werdet ihr die Pläne für meine (hypothetische) Präsidentschaft finden. Und wie sagt man so schön - "man wächst mit seinen Aufgaben"
