Vote Colby

Day 914, 19:23 Published in Ireland Ireland by Anthony Colby

Time again for all us candidates to flood the press with articles asking for votes and giving the reasons why they should be elected once again. Well who am I to break with tradition?

My name; Anthony Colby. My party; Clann na nGael, although I will need to run as a member of the Irish Union Party since my party is not one of the five biggest in Ireland. For those of you who don't know, if your party is not one of the top five political parties in membership you can not officially run for the Dail. You have to run under the banner of a bigger party and then switch back to your party if you win. Not to much sense to complain about it, the Admins made it that way and that is just the way it is. I would like to thank the Irish Union Party and Irish Princess. Without them I would not be able to run.

Clann na nGael

What kind of party is Clann na nGael? We are a center-right, libertarian party. We believe in having as little government as possible. The citizen is responsible for his or her own success and the government will only get involved when absolutely necessary. Military invasion and economic collapse would necessitate government involvement, but most day to day economic growth would come about through the hard work and initiative of the citizens of Ireland.

One of the things I like about Clann na nGael is that while we all share similar values and ideas we are not all bound by rigid ideology. If I think there should be more government involvement in the economy than my fellow members then I can believe that. We believe in individualism, not carbon copies.

Diplomacy

Clann na nGael is involved in the Celtic League. The League is an organization who aims to unite all the peoples of the eWorld who live in regions that are all related through our Celtic origins. All of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany and Galacia are all areas we want to work with to unite economically, socially and eventually politically. Economic growth and ties throughout these regions are the main goal. We feel that there are other ways that unite members of the eWorld other than just through nationality. By growing and trading together we can make ourselves stronger and maybe just maybe change the way in which this game is played. I am a Foreign Affairs Delegate in the League. More info about the League can be found here.

Military

The military of Ireland is very important to me and to Clann na nGael. Party President Dan Murchadh and myself are two of the five IDF Division Commanders in all of Ireland. We have been working steadily for the last month to improve the strength of the IDF by deploying to help our allies around the world. Every battle only strengthens our forces. We gain experience and rank with every fight. As a member of the Dail I voted to restart the training war we participate in so that those who can not deploy will also be able to strengthen themselves. We need every soldier to be ready for the day, if it ever comes, that the UK makes good on their threat to invade Ireland. It may never happen but we need to be ready in case it does happen.

Other Stuff

Some of the other things I have done lately as a citizen of Ireland.

1. I have written a travel article on Belgium for the Irish National Newspaper.

2. I created medals for volunteers for the Ministry of Health.

3. I have created military awards for IDF soldiers to use in their signatures on the national forums.

4. I have created a Wiki page for the IDF Tank Division.

5. I am the editor of this paper.

Well to wrap this all up I would like your vote on the 25th for the Dail. I am a candidate in Cork and Kerry under the banner of the Irish Union Party.

I would also like to wish all other Dail candidates of all parties good luck in their campaigns and I hope to be working with 39 of you on the 26th.

Thanks.
Anthony Colby
