Valentine's Day Raffle Results

Many of you know that the Socialist Freedom Party and Bear Cavalry just did a big raffle. The idea was to give folks a chance to give gifts to their friends and sweethearts. We all make amazing friendships in this silly game and sometimes we forget how important those interactions are. It certainly isn’t real life, but it is a fun escape now and then. The camaraderie here can be amazing at times. We spend a good deal of time bitching about Plato and the work tax and wonky servers and all of that, but sometimes we forget about the fun. Hopefully this little raffle brought a bit of fun back, if only for a couple days.

I have learned a few things about this eWorld over the last few days. Here they are in no particular order…

1. There is a lot of love out there. Sometimes people just need a reminder to show it.
2. It is good to be rainy sunday. She truly is everyone’s sweetheart apparently by how many valentines she received. Of course she sent a ton of valentines as well so there is the whole give love to get love thing there…
3. The Socialist Freedom Party and Bear Cavalry are filled with awesome people.
4. Be prepared for a simple idea to work too well.
5. I am really f#@k&%g sick of cookies and chocolates.

I have finally allowed Captain Recks and 11austin to leave their posts in the kitchen where they tirelessly baked and frosted and dipped and who knows what else to make all of the cookies and chocolates we sent out. By allowed to leave I mean I removed the shackles and quit feeding them Red Bull and cocaine.



The coffee pot at the SFP offices broke on day one and we had to go to the BC mess tent to commandeer that one. That broke too after MaryamQ, Ghost of Tom Joad and Shilo13 started fighting over who got to drive the delivery van first. Little did they know there was going to be plenty of delivering for all of us. We delivered 21,800 cookies and chocolates. 25 or so at a time. That is a lot of sweets. I anticipate we all gain a few pounds because of this little fundraiser.



We also sold 872 tickets for the raffle and here comes the fun part. I get to announce the winners. Speaking of winners, we originally had just ten prizes. Very nice prizes, but there were only ten. After a bit of thought we decided to add a few more since we did so well on the raffle so now there are thirty prizes. I will list them as I go. Since the houses can’t be gifted we are sending cash, and I am basing the prices on the eUS market.
