V for Victory: The eUSA and Recent Events
Vanek26
For those that don't know me, I am Vanek26, 10 term (10/12 months) NSC Chairman of the United States of America. During this time, I led the United States's war, planning, and coordination and was Terra SC at least half a dozen times. I've spent a year in the EDEN Terra HQ Channel. I have spend much of my career in dealing with the high levels of international politics, which has given me a perspective that could be considered unique. I say this not to brag, but to show that I know what I am doing, and that what I'm about to say is the result of years of experience. Last month I resigned from the United States Government, due to RL commitments, burnout, and (least important at the time) unease over the path the United States was taking.
I'd like to take some time to give my thoughts on some recent events and leadership.
Let’s start with Evry. I think he is honestly trying, and of course he is not a PTO or ONE agent or any of the insane theories some people keep spouting. However, he also is approaching some situations in a way that is based on the hope everything will go right. Which of course, it never does. People are stupid. People also act in their own selfish best interest. From what I can tell, he seems to have hoped that Poland and Spain would both take the risk of leaving ONE and trying something new with no lifelines, when in fact that was never likely. Also, his damage control and propaganda sucks. I think that if he takes my advice and tries for a genuine rapprochement many of his mistakes can be rectified.
Final note on Evry: I've seen sentiment for an impeachment. However, I must urge that Congress not do this drastic step due to problems in the line of succession. I don't know who the INCI guy is, I'm sure he's a fine guy, but I have literally no idea who he is, and he is next in line since Glove became a Canadian. I suggest Congress reprimand Evry or something, and demand he change his policies, but impeachment isn't viable here. That brings up a final point of Presidential thingys. Run two good candidates so we don't have this problem.
Moving on… I’ll go with the anti-Canadian people that wanted this war. Sure, it might be fun to kill Canada for a week, but that won’t last long. This is just gonna cause issues down the road. And the people that want us to join ONE or whatever, same thing.
As for Canada, I’ve seen enough logs and stuff to know that Rylde and his people wanted this war, and manipulated the USA to actually do it, which the USA was stupid enough to do. So people, quit acting like they are saints.
EDEN and ONE – seriously, you guys need to stop leaking your logs. It’s annoying, and counterproductive for everyone. EDEN – quit acting so interested in the USA’s internal affairs, it just hurts your standing. ONE – keep fighting for Serbia, its working out well for you.
Now, as for the anti-Evry Americans that are threatening to fight for Canada, I just want to say a few things. First off, calm down, hyperbole doesn’t help your cause, it actually makes it look ridiculous. Write with logic and good grammar. Seriously, cut the double !! out. Secondly, don't overdo the fighting against America, you are just helping ONE if you do. Make your point and move on.
Anyhow, here is what must be done by the USA, Canada, EDEN, and Terra over the next month to repair the damage done:
Canada: elect someone not from the ‘Coalition’.
USA: accept that a friendship with Poland won’t be happening, and work to repair FA. I honestly believe with a good faith effort, this is easier then it may seem.
The war – just get it out. Beat each other up for a day or two, then just let it go to auto-attacks and do a peace proposal in 8 days (Canada NE’d a day after USA, so peace can’t happen for 8 days). RW any territory taken back, and call it a day.
To EDEN and Terra: Don't escalate. Having other countries attack the USA will drive the USA into ONE in self-defense.
To ONE: Don't attack the USA, that would drive the USA back to TEDEN.
Remember, people do what is in their own best interest 9/10 times.
The only people that win in a Can-Am war are the wigs and ONE. The war should not have happened, but it is happening, so just make the best of a bad situation and have some fun for a day or two, then get back to business and fighting Serbs.
I'd like to leave you with some final thoughts on what the eUSA should be like. America, up until recently, in my opinion, had earned a fairly good reputation as a relatively selfless nation and good ally. The eUSA is gifted some unique advantages and disadvantages in this game, and it is up to us to exploit these for the betterment of the eUSA and our allies. And above all, seeing as we are playing a stupid online game, there really isn't anything, in my opinion, more important then the feeling that you are helping others and being the good guys.

You say: Canada: elect someone not from the ‘Coalition’.
I say: Fire with fire: can we get someone to fund 'the opposition' with election tanks, or are we supposed to win this with the ill-fated "hearts&mind" approach we've tried on and off the last year or more?
Vanek is reason. \o/

"As for Canada, I’ve seen enough logs and stuff to know that Rylde and his people wanted this war, and manipulated the USA to actually do it, which the USA was stupid enough to do. So people, quit acting like they are saints."
Lulz
Really, Canada isn't blameless here. Don't try to even argue it.
My favorite part (seriously):
EDEN and ONE – seriously, you guys need to stop leaking your logs. It’s annoying, and counterproductive for everyone. EDEN – quit acting so interested in the USA’s internal affairs, it just hurts your standing. ONE – keep fighting for Serbia, its working out well for you.

1. I'm one of the most experienced player at the high level of international politics in the world
2. Canada: elect someone not from the ‘Coalition’.
?????? One of the most experienced player at the high level of international politics in the world should know that in diplomacy openly interfere in the internal affairs of another state is a failure

beautiful
Vanek26, it's always interesting to read your articles. Keep up the good work. As for the USA and it's path, I'll refrain from comment, but I must wish you good luck if you go with Poland (you'll need it)
Nice reading
Good article,thanks for the insight.

"Now, as for the anti-Evry Americans that are threatening to fight for Canada..."
Perhaps you don't understand that we're not so much blaming Evry, it's the govt. that's been hoisted on us for months now. This problem goes back to at least Oblige and maybe beyond. And I for one am not "threatening" to fight for Canada, I am indeed fighting for Canada, just as I have been fighting for Switzerland. The powers that be insist that we should have "fun" and do unconventional things.
Wonderful then, you find planning insane alliances and then attacking Canada fun. I find being a mercenary and fighting for your opposition fun. Please explain the difference "seeing as we are playing a stupid online game".
You cite RL commitments as a reason for dropping out of leadership. That's fine. My #1 rule is RL>eRep. I hope things get better for you. You are an interesting player and you make the game interesting.
So now lets play this out, shall we?
This was a good article. That said this is like the most fun in months, maybe years, even if it is burning the house down.

really, if you wanted to make a damage control article in favor of Evry what would you have done differently from what you have done in this article?
"...of course he is not a PTO or ONE agent..."
Sure because if he were, he would act quite differently, right?
just out of curiosity how do you find out someone as being " a PTO or ONE agent"?

By being a PTO agent? I've known Evry for like two and half years at this point. She, when not CP, is high up in the treasury department always and is very trustworthy.
You might disagree with her moves, and I do, but she isn't a PTO at all. Just misguided and wrong on a lot of things.
It all boils down to this "which the USA was stupid enough to do"

Vanek perhaps you should become president.
"Also, his damage control and propaganda sucks."
Very true, he could have gone much farther with his agenda if he knew how to master propaganda.
"Canada: elect someone not from the ‘Coalition’."
As an ex-SEESling, I like their approach to the game. They haven't done anything illegal, immoral perhaps, but they aren't foreigners, they're 100% Canadian and if Canadians don't care that they are being bribed to vote, more power to the Coalition.
"USA: accept that a friendship with Poland won’t be happening, and work to repair FA. I honestly believe with a good faith effort, this is easier then it may seem."
This.
"EDEN – quit acting so interested in the USA’s internal affairs, it just hurts your standing."
But aren't we doomed to fight for Romania everyday? xD True though.
And also I don't know what succession rules are exactly if I swapped CS to Canada and swapped back to American if the vote passed. ...But
An INCI president, even if just for a week, would be very interesting. Overall a good and honest article.
Glove - I believe, if you got American CS during the impeachment, you *could* be put in... but I'm not positive, and that is something that would have to be confirmed with the wigs.

Vanek is the man. Period.
Best article on the issue that I've read thus far.
Good article, good points

Be honest. If this happened in your own country, but the money and equipment used to do the bribing was basically the nation's treasury that had been stolen, would you still feel the same way?
Great article V
Yep, sounds good to me.
No, just no.
