Updates on Congress & The NHS Fundraiser

Day 2,463, 04:11 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Hello all!

Firstly, some housekeeping: if you hadn’t caught the article, voting for this months Royal Family Prize is now taking place. The three nominees are Horice, Mick Cain, and Alan Warwickshire. You may vote for who you want to win using this doc. Winner gets a title and some cash. There are only three and a bit days left to vote!

Secondly, funny things have been going on in Congress. You may have read that Rob the Bruce has stepped down as speaker, this he apparently did about a week ago but he only posted in one congress message feed saying so. Half of Congress received the message, and didn’t act on it. Which is a bit of a let down - my group was told yesterday and so I am currently seeking out nominees (if you want to be speaker message me) and will organise a vote to have a new speaker in place by tomorrow (tuesday). The new speaker will get the public up to speed on what has been discussed and help congress catch up on issues they have brought up in the messages which haven’t been publicly debated yet. I will help the new speaker publish a report on Congress activity so that PP’s and the public can get an idea of who the less engaged MP’s are.

Inspiration?

NHS Fundraiser

Over the past week, Alan Warwickshire, Dr Kawishiwi and myself have watched carefully as donations for the NHS fundraiser were pledged to help raise the money to allow Dr K and Alan to give gold to patients so they can upgrade their training grounds.

The target they set out to raise was £60,000, and as I had promised to match half of each payment, the amount they needed to raise from the public was £40,000. One week on and we are pleased to announce that We have reached our target!

Having gotten to £39,926 we have decided to draw the fundraiser to a close, and I shall round the pot up to 60k. As such, the NHS team would like to say a BIG thank you to the following benefactors (in no particular order):

Hotfuz
John Rupert Miranda
