Turkey Barley Chili
Hotelier
I have a recipe that is too good to hoard. Therefore, I shall share it with the masses! Redistributing food, that kind of thing. I'm also very bored.
You will nee
😛
- 1 large onion (or two small ones, I won't judge)
- Olive oil
- 2lbs (or ~1kg) of ground turkey
- 2 500ml cans of navy beans
- 2 cans of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of salsa
- 1/2 cup of barley
- 10oz of chicken/beef stock
Spice Mix
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt (or seasoned salt)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions
1. Cut up the onion and put it in a large pot with the olive oil over medium heat. Let them cook until they're soft.
2. Put in the turkey, cover it and let the turkey cook through.
3. Stir in the spice mix
4. Pour in everything else
5. Let it simmer for 45 minutes.
Serves many, takes around an hour and a half, but saves you days of cooking. Good for large parties.
Enjoy!

Winter food 🙂
You can't go wrong with 2 onions, 2lbs of meat, 2 cans of tomatoes, 2 cans of beans and whatever else is laying around. Cooking bacon and mushrooms with the onions at the start is good too.
Alternatively you can also do beef or chicken. Or any mixture thereof if you're really crazy.
Crazy! 😉
Nice.
