The Way Of Things

Day 2,900, 07:39 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

I see these days a lot of solutions proposed for this game.

To fix 2 problems. As a game progresses it naturally loses players and players become more inactive. If your a world based game you might need to close worlds or move worlds to other worlds.

THE NATURAL PROGRESSION OF ALL ONLINE GAMES

We are 1 world so dont have that problem. Also despite what is said about the economy one can still make a decent amount of money perhaps it just involves hitting a nail with the same hammer every day. But yes we can still make money and lots of people play a good economic game as well.

The biggest problem with too many change is that those that do it right has worked hard to setup their factories to make money. Their the active players in the economy - mess with them and all of the money that trickle down to other areas might suddenly just come to a complete stop. I

Can we change the military. The problem I see is inactivity. And Plato do work his butt off to make it more interesting to fight. Still it is still hitting a nail with the same hammer each day. . And certain players will be active at some times and inactive at others. Determining when is impossible and is the players own prerogative. For example Don Croata was a lot more active earlier on the battlefield. So imo making more players more active on the battlefield is a bit of a daunting task. Perhaps Plato should bring stash features in game. For example in most games we have the daily rewarder- so plato bring this in and reward players for short or long periods with stash features. For example 3000 energy for 5 days or 20 x 10 times damage accelerators. And then either increase the stashes or just keep them as is.

What we get in each game is the stick factor. Its like rolling a thousand stones over a grease tray to have 1 diamond stick to it. A modern online game no matter it play-ability will have a certain person stick with it and another abandon it
A classic example is baby booms. Lets take for example forge of empires in which I have a massive city which was apparently even featured in their 1 ad or something as I got some free coins here for my contribution to their ad. Now we have a EDGE channel that features mostly HBO series and re-rens of classics like for example they re-ran the entire Sopranos there. Now FOE is one of a few ads that actually runs there and I did login to my account again.

But it must come from the game and it must be constant. If coke stopped placing ads Young people would stop drinking coke(maybe not) but for example here Pepsi is completely dead - deader than a door nail due to the fact that they never established a base of users. And there is almost zero ads by them.

So ePlato and eLana please stop looking at players for baby booms it must come from the game company itself. A 100 dollar facebook ad cannot compete with a 10000 dollar ad campaign in a country like Forge of Empires is doing.
