The Swiss-Slovenian treaty

After weeks of negotiation, both governments have arrived at a final treaty.
START OF TREATY
Bilateral Treaty between the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Slovenia
The November Non-Aggression Pact
The Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Slovenia have adopted the following Treaty:
Article I: Exchange of regions
1 Slovenia will relinquish the regions of Graubunden and Svizzera Italiana to Swiss control through resistance war. Slovenia will keep the regions of Romandie and Deutschschweiz.
Article II: Monetary transfer
1 Switzerland will pay the bank of Slovenia 150 gold, 100 gold, 75 gold, 50 gold, and 25 gold on the 26th of each following month in order to keep the regions assigned in Article I (cf. Art. I, paragraph 1). On December 26th, Switzerland would pay 150 gold to Slovenia, then 100 gold in January, and then 75 gold and so on.
Article III: Engagement policies
1 The government of Switzerland will not start any resistance wars in the regions Romande and Deutschschweiz occupied by Slovenia; However if a resistance war is started, both the Swiss and Slovenian governments will support the Slovenian side of the battle.
2 As long as this treaty is in effect, the Non-Aggression Pact will be active for both countries. Neither country can attack the other as long as this treaty is active. This includes aiding in Canadian-Swiss resistance wars.
3 Punishment for the Swiss government intentionally breaking the treaty (cf. Art. III, paragraph 2) is to pay Slovenia double the monthly payment of gold sent. For example, if on February 15th the Swiss government breaks the treaty, the Swiss government would pay the Slovenian bank 150 gold.
4 Punishment for Slovenia breaking the treaty (cf. Art. III, paragraph 2) is to pay the bank of Switzerland double the monthly payment of gold received. For example, if on March 30th Slovenia broke the treaty, Slovenia would pay the bank of Switzerland 100 gold.
5 If a the regions of Romandie or Deutschschweiz are released by a rogue resistance war and the treaty still applies, the Swiss government will declare war on Slovenia and be taken over in Romandie/Deutschschweiz. Graubunden and Svizzera Italiana will remain under Swiss control.
Article IV: Conditions of application
1 The present treaty is not retroactive and enters in application as soon as it has been approved by the representatives of both countries.
2 The present treaty is limited to a five month period. It cannot be ended by either of the two countries presidents until the end of the five month period, after April congressional elections. It would only end if the treaty was violated.
3 If there are any incomprehensibility of actions, representatives of both countries shall discuss it first and all formal opinions will be shared on an official meeting. Additionally, all actions handled by players who don't represent a country shall be ignored and dismissed.
END OF TREATY
This is a very mutualistically beneficial agreement. The object of this NAP was to provide a foundation of peace and respect on which to support future Swiss-Slovenian negotiations. Throughout the entire process, both sides were very diplomatic, and acted with great respect for each other. I am proud of the work I put into this. We have to pay for our regions, yes, but we pay MUCH more gold in fighting Slovenian and losing than paying for peace and winning. We also get back our home regions of Switzerland, we get our bonuses (if we move over our capital), we boost morale, and we further diplomatic relations with our nemesis Slovenia.

Personally, I support this treaty. I am just saddened that we have to abandon Italy. :'(
The only thing that I would wish to add to the treaty, is that if Graubunden and Svizzera italiana by another country, such as Poland or Serbia (for example) Slovenia will come to our aid and help us maintain our regions.

We are not abandoning anyone. We simply can't directly or officially aid another country in the attack of Slovenia. Austria has much the same deal but we consider them friendly. I would hope that Swiss and Italy would continue to become better friends. If our dealings with Slove are pleasant I am hopeful that something may work out with Italy. With everyone peaceful in our corner of the world this would allow Austria, Italy, Swiss and even Slovenia to do something different besides constant RW.
The mutual aid was discussed thoroughly. Slovenia cannot attack another TWO member. However I am assured that Slovenia would consider anyone messing with us as a slap in their face. Anyone messing with their business would be going against the TWO charter and would be catching hell from all TWO membership.

How much do you suppose it would cost us, collectively as a group, to retake these regions? I estimate it would cost in the thousands of gold for all of us to fight to retake the regions.
Also our cost is partially offset by a 55gold per month increase in tax revenue and land rent savings since we would no longer need Alberta. Try looking at the big picture and you'll see this is a mutually beneficial deal.

If they don't they don't. No loss there really. As Shaun already put above, it is far more cost-efficient to have peace than to deal with constant RWing. We win a region back...Slovs wait till the counter ticks to zero again and conquer us. We wait till the counter gets back high, RW, success...the process starts again. It will get boring fast and tbh all these failed RW-s already got boring like 4 months ago. Why would anyone want to whip themselves with constant failures, is beyond me. I suggest we try this peaceful solution for a change and if it fails it fails. If it succeeds, it's all good. RW-s and petty wars aren't going anywhere, no need to hold onto them like crack.

Exactly what Shaun said. Only words that are useless are the ones from you kimiyimi. We try to discuss with reasoning and explaining, yet you do no such thing. You just randomly hit the keyboard without making any arguments. It makes you seem as you do not even give an ounce of thought about any of this, you just want to complain. And not doing the necessary thought process makes it seem like you don't even care what happens, you just want to cause some drama. Please take some time to think it through and stop acting childish. I know it might be too much to ask from you seeing as you're still extremely young but please try okay. This game has too many childish people (even childish adults) as it is.

Now let's see how many time they (Slovenia community), gonna respect this treaty.
Even yesterday, when was debate in slovenia, lot of slovenians were fighting agains us in Alberta.
Still was worth a shot. I can't see anyone saying it wasn't worthy of trying atleast. Now that we've tried that option, now we can do whatever else is left to do.
I think this treaty is an interesting step, but too little and a bit too late. Only getting the whole Switzerland back can be acceptable. How many bombs could we get with this gold? I would prefer to pact with another major countries rather than slovenia. We get not much increase in our relative power doing this.
We won't be getting all of our regions back, not even with the determination counter and FF medal updates. Well, let me correct myself, we can't get them back permanently. Yes it is possible for us to successfully RW them once the determination counter get's high as hell (ugh i mean heaven). But we cannot hold them once the determination counter gets back low again. Meaning they'll come back to wipe us once again. What happens then? We sit for a while to wait the determination counter go up and start another plethora of RW-s (some successful some failures) and do it again. It will get really boring fast (even if it hasn't gotten boring for you already). Give this thing a chance, there isn't a realistic way for Switzerland to somehow become more powerful than Slovenia, not even with some of the updates. So we cannot have all of the regions atleast not for long. This is the best we can have imo.
My point is that I prefer pay a neighbour country to defend us, than to pay Slovenians for their pity.
And which neighbor would that be? Mind you that there isn't anybody up for constant defending in often occurring battles in all of our regions or even if there was the price would probably skyrocket since the probability of constant wars is too damn high. It will get more expensive fast and what would happen once the big brother turned us down or would get invaded or have some other wars going on for themselves. They'd drop the deal ASAP and we'd be conquered once again, with less hope to negotiate. Mind you this chance to negotiate hasn't come up in like 4-6 months and all of the cabinets in that time period have tried to contact Sloves for peaceful negotiations. It has just been constantly turned down by them, so this isn't us giving up. This is us using an option, a limited time window that we had to try this. Either it succeeds or fails, it can't do any more harm and can't make our situation worse. On the same time if we'd have kept being stubborn and not tried this we'd still be walking the same road as the last half of year already. This is a step towards peace, it can go sideways but we'd still end up in the same situation we are or were a couple of days back.

As I see it you nay sayers will soon have your chance. TBH, now that the regions are back to what you wanted this will be amusing to me. I plan on staying around to watch you cry "Help me! Someone help me! I have no regions!" Then you RW a region, spend 100's of gold only to loose again. Meanwhile I will stand by to laugh. Oh, I will fight but only with free EB's that Plato gives. I will spend no RL money on further gold to waste on RW's.

It will easily be thousands of gold to RW and maintain those regions, not hundreds. But it seems many people around here would rather spend thousands of gold on fighting constantly than a few hundred gold on long-term diplomacy and stability.

How did you fail?? Seriously, I sent you some stuff to pass out for supplies, as long as you did that there was nothing else to do. Any friends we had out there have their own RW's to worry about. Swiss players are broke. The new winners in eRep are those with M/C and Visa.
Isn't it easier to just MPP with Slovenia? We all see how this is trending. Why rent from our enemies when we could just as easily thrive with our friends?

A good number of Slovenians wouldn't even want that. The option I think you are leaning to is Swiss joining TWO. I'm pretty sure we could arrange that as Poland and to a lesser degree Serbia have spoken kindly to me. I just don't want to go there.
I can be indifferent to Slove if it got us some core regions back but I don't wish to align with Serbia. Not that I dislike all Serbs, I just don't like their game play. Besides, everyone needs a perpetual enemy to "hate".
