I like this song for reasons obvious and not so obvious.

Statement of Intent

It's that time: Congressional Elections. I would like to be your representative once again.

I have been less active the last few months due to RL, but I have been keeping abreast of the major changes. Now that RL has settled down a wee bit, I can devote more time to my beloved eHome.

Qualifications

I bring to eIreland the following:

1. Experience
2. Dedication
3. And an unholy desire to annihalate the majority of Brits. (Boxy Bastards)

There are a select few that I would show mercy only because they didn't know any better and chose to be born in the eUK and not here. We will have to change that, of course, by painting all their tiles red. It's the only way to ensure that all the wee eBabies are born under the banner of the green, white, and orange.

Introduction

A lot of you probably don't know who I am. That's alright. You will soon enough. I have been called many things. Some good. Some not so good. I have been called the Mother of Ireland, Sainted Edana, and my personal favorite, Marmite. I am also the self proclaimed Destroyer of Boxes.

I conduct myself here as I do in RL. Fearless, relentless, with fire and compassion. That's why I chose the name Edana. It means "Fire". And Savage, well, I don't think I need to explain that one. It's better if you see it first hand and preferably from over my shoulder and not front and center.

If you are considered one of mine, I will defend you to the ends of the eEarth. I consider all in Ireland one of mine. I have a particular soft spot for new citizens and I am very protective of them. I do everything in my power to make sure they are taken care of properly.

And if you are not considered one of mine? I either have not had the pleasure of meeting you yet, or God help you, you have hurt one of mine and I have decided to do everything I can to make your life hell.

Theme

I usually have a theme when I write a womanifesto. I have thought long and hard on this one and I have decided it must be economically based. That seems to be the biggest issue in our country and much of the eWorld currently. We have made some changes that have helped eIreland, but more is required. It will be this Teachta Dála's responsibility to examine and propose ways to improve our economy and to work closely with the current and subsequent Administrations to ensure eIreland stays on the right track.

So my theme is this:

"There can be no real individual freedom in the presence of economic insecurity."
Chester Bowles (1901 - 1986)

Right now we are not able to do as much as we would like mainly because good jobs are scarce and a decent wage is even more scarce. We have to curb out actions out of economic necessity which effects everyone on multiple levels.

Business owners are shutting down or reducing their workforce. Military campaigns are decided based on the size of our pocketbook. New citizens are struggling to make their way in this strange new world.

It's time to take back our economy.

A very different war, but one I think needs to be fought. It's not traditional by any means and the enemy is not easy to identify. But as with everything else we do, we will succeed at this too.

So, if you like what I have to say and wouldn't mind giving me another shot, I will do my very best to make you proud.
