The Bothers of Running a Country

Day 2,330, 10:23 Published in South Africa South Africa by Rico Suave

I don't think it escaped anyone that we have a new regime.

The Lazokrats have the Executive Office and a majority of congress.
They now effectively rule eSouth Africa and in the short term that is something that we have to accept.

If they have not already, the Lazokrats will soon discover that running an effective country is more than taking care of your own. A good ruler protects his government and takes care of his citizens. The two are not always 100% compatible but the competent ruler makes sure to compromise.

With that in mind there are important questions in need of answers:

1. Taxes. There are two certainties, death and taxes. But the purpose of the outrageous taxes proposed by the ruling party is a mystery to me. Is it punishment for resisting your take over? If so, how long will you punish us? Is it about revenue? If it is you will soon just be transferring money from your individual members to the state coffers. Indeed is there a reason at all or are you just doing it because you can?

2. Foreign Policy - I'm assuming we have a policy towards other countries? If so, where are you taking us? Is it possible to inform the proverbial man on the street as to what's going on?

3. The Future. What is the Lazokrat vision of eSouth Africa in 12 months? What's the larger purpose?

I'm hoping for a sober and serious reply from the government but if the response solely consists of one-liners in latin I want you to remember that opposition prevents stagnation. You might just miss us once we're all gone.

In the end I'm sure it will all work out.
