So Now We Have North Dakota. What Now?

"Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better."
King Whitney Jr.

I came across this quote and I found it interesting.

I found it interesting because I believe it applies to eIreland at this moment, now.

Moo and the administration made some bold moves. Some parts were celebrated, like the call to action and our engagement of the Brits. Personally, I love that part the best. 🙂 I know a lot of you did as well.

Other parts have some reservations. Namely our rental of North Dakota high grain region. As I understand it, Moo and Irishbhoy were the masterminds behind the plan. None of us knew all the details of the plan or how detailed the plan was. Some have questioned the validity of the plan even going as far as making statements about how they were against it all along.

Be that as it may, we have the region now. The question is, how do we move forward?

We did not go to all this trouble just to pack up and head back to our Emerald Isle. Did we?

To the fearful: Yeah, it's scary. Yeah, things might get worse before they get better. Yeah, the status quo is being challenged. Keep asking the hard questions. They need to be asked. However, I would encourage you to keep an open mind when possible.

To the hopeful: Yes, this does have a chance of succeeding if we take a realistic look at the challenges. Just because we have North Dakota, does not mean the hardest part is done. The biggest challenge is yet to come. It's not all sunshine and lollipops, kiddos. Be hopeful, but do not be blind.

To the confident: Be inspired, warriors of the economy. There are a lot of people counting on you to make this work. We have Dared Greatly, now it's time to pony up. This will be one of the greatest challenges of our time. This will be your chance to shine. Don't screw it up. 🙂

Congratulations to Irishbhoy and to all the candidate. (Except Ron) It was a great election. Conor you did great. Don't second guess yourself.

Irishbhoy, best wishes to you, love. I remember when you were a wee babe just entering the eWorld and look at you now. You have tackled PTO threats, taken on Foreign Affairs and you have been an outspoken member of the Teachta Dala. I am proud. You have done well.

You have a huge challenge in front of you and if anyone can meet it, I know you can. I offer my humble services to you should you need them. I have a feeling you could do it without me, but the offer is there, nonetheless.

For a United Ireland!
