So it's come to this!

We've reached just such a watershed moment. And by we, I mean the entire eCanadian team as a whole. Frankly I don't identify myself with either camp of the Rolo debacle, I think the argument has grown beyond all bounds of sanity. But hey, it's clearly for the lulz anyway.
But today we face a real shift that is unprecedented in our new political climate. eCanada has lost all of it's colonies. Regardless of your opinion on the EPC movement they have achieved a goal worth acknowledging, their efforts have demonstrably cost eCanada so as to further their message.
However, here is where things change. We no longer have any colonies to take, eCanada has only sovereign territory left. The government of the UK may seek a peaceful resolution to our conflict but their backers in ONE do not. They wish us wiped out. So EPC now must make a choice, up to now the argument could be made that they were protesting (successfully) against the decisions of some of eCanada's community leaders. But are they willing to aid enemies bent on the destruction of eCanada, to sweep over our borders?
Effectively this is the point when EPC must come together and decide, if they are actually patriots. Once they invade eCanadian soil at the head of a ONE army, well there's a word for that, it begins with T and ends with raitor. You can't be a patriot and actively wipe out the nation you "patriotically" support.
Lets face it, the EPC and other groups of disgruntled eCanadians are upset at a very small subset of players within our community. They have paid attention to what goes on on the forum, and IRC, perhaps too much attention. For the majority of the community isn't polarized by this debate, yet. But I am willing to bet that the majority are going to remember the names of players who actively seek to screw them. Names of former eUK leaders and Pheonix secretary generals and the like are still reviled by the eCanadian community, do the members of EPC really want to add their names to that list?
Really, all of this is about the actions of one player, who has trolled the community and harmed it. And yet is wiping out the community by helping it's enemies better than what he's done, regardless of the motivation?
I think not.

Their names are etched in my head forever.
They have no realistic endgame, and have only brought more support for the pardon and Norsefire, as is usual with terrorist tactics.
An excellent editorial on the political battlegrounds of eCanada. Keep the news flowing! Voted and subscribed.
Not only that, but they're trying to "solve" a role-play problem through only game-mechanics. Not very effective, at all.
I miss your guidance, GT.
I keep typing something and deleting it, so you know what Thraxy

This is the excellent foppery of the world, that, when we are sick in fortune, -- often the surfeit of our own behaviour, -- we make guilty of our disasters the sun, the moon, and the stars: as if we were villains by necessity; fools by heavenly compulsion; knaves, thieves, and treachers, by spherical predominance; drunkards, liars, and adulterers, by an enforced obedience of planetary influence.
King Lear, 1. 2
😁😁😁
Quite right Acacia. Your behaviour did contribute to this situation, and it is vain to blame the sun, moon and planetary influence. There is a measure for each. Now, if we could just say "well that was a bonehead move, where do we go from here - together".
I doubt you will see EPC fighters cross the bright line of home territory. It would work at cross purposes to the goal of improving the ethos of ecanada.
couldn't resist the chess analogy: "They have no realistic endgame". Here is the thing. You don't plan tactics for the end game until you are entering the endgame. This is just the start of the middle game.
Yeah, but we do know endgame involves the King and I don't think EPC can realistically set its goals on one definite target at the moment. I'm learning to take the ambiguous aims as a hope that discussion will direct EPC towards a cause that will rally more people, rather than disgruntle the masses.
So far it's been about rattling the cages of the entrenched and give a wake up call to those that play with idle concern. I'm thinking that has been accomplised to a certain degree. Perhaps the next stage is laying off while the message and consequences sink in, since there is little to be advanced on the board right now except home invasion.
Will EPC weather an occupation? This is a very serious concern. Who among the Loyalists or Rebels can survive a long winter.
As this pointless issue, and I can't emphasize pointless enough, continues on to it's ultimate ending without fail I can't help but start to think that the EPC, or at least it's core leadership, never had the desire to cross that bright line of home territory.
Solutions are far easier than everyone seems to think yet no one listens. It has persisted far longer than it should and it's led me to believe that the road that everyone is being led down is exactly what the participating parties are fighting for.
Kronos: the theft was no a role-play problem, but an in-game one. I think that EPC have no interest on forum/IRC thief's access. This is the last minor problem of them.
My personal opinion is that the important activities are in-game, all the rest is a huge waste of time, in RL detrimental.
Uncorporate😛 Staying away from home territories isn't a new thing.... it was described from the get go... the EPC fighters planned to be involved only in RWs.
I do agree that there have been a few perfectly great solutions offered and utterly ignored. Solving this thing would have been easy. Getting people to calm down and actually consider ... not so much. Oh well. To each his measure, his portion, or his Portia:
"The quality of mercy is not strained
It falls like hammer blows, and strident insult and guttural invective..." (hmmmm.. that can't be right )
at the end of the day human beings forget... usually in a matter of weeks...
i was not here when the world collapsed, but since i returned fewer and fewer people have been vocal about the 'events'
in 2... 3 months only the most vigilant (or maybe vengeful) of players will remember or even care about then events of the present....
Patriotique? À quoi au eCanada? Dream on.

EPC stated from the outset that it would not support attacks on original regions of eCan.
Although we were successful in increasing the cost of indifference, we did not achieve the changes within eCan that we wanted. There has been some improvement and definitely some momentum, but there is more work to do.
Epic had its moment and now the world has moved on, they can either come home and reintegrate into Canadian society or stay exiles for the rest of there e-life.
At the end of the day Canada will always come out on top, no one player or group holds the balance of power.
