My Thoughts On Love

All the things you want aren't necessarily the ones you get
All the things you said weren't necessarily what you meant
She's going to want to go her way but follow you
You just be careful not to destroy yourself too

Sometimes you'll fight, sometimes you'll make her cry
But you'll always say you're sorry If you're that kind of guy
You'll laugh at her jokes and you'll hold her tight
You'll tell her she's beautiful when she's not feeling so bright

She's going to tell you what she thinks if she's really that good
You'll tell her what you think but that her opinion is understood
She'll be sexy in bed and make a great mother
If you'll be a good husband you'll become a great lover

You'll come home tired from working two jobs stressed and unsteady
She'll hug you,kiss you, and tell you dinners almost ready
You'll ask about her day while your headache is pounding
She'll ask about yours and you noticed her smile is astounding

One day you'll look over at her while she's cooking dinner
And realize that the ones that got away were losers but you were the winner
You'll grab her hand and look into her eyes
She'll ask the what and you'll tell her the why

In her mind one day she'll think she'll be past her prime
But in your mind she'll still be the girl you kissed that one time
She'll think she's getting older and that time has been so mean
But sweetheart age is nothing and you still look like you turned eighteen

So maybe that's what love is? When two people actually care.
When it's not about money, the car they drive, or the clothes they wear
Maybe it's the little things in the journey that made you like the walk
Like dancing with her in your room and just watching her talk

I guess you can say that true loves just a fantasy
But I believe that if you love her and she loves you it can be a reality
No more broken homes, no more broken hearts
No more broken promises from broken terrible starts
If you love her put a ring on her hand that says your mine
But for all men, if you don't, stop using her and wasting her time
