Riddles of havoc: Round 1

Day 1,245, 15:06 Published in USA USA by havocpwn

I’ve been on a long hiatus from writing and I still am but only on actual writing. I will begin this weekly riddle contest to show I’m still alive and pump some minds....

Let’s begin shall we?

What is the center of gravity?

Whoever makes it, tells it not. Whoever takes it, knows it not. And whoever knows it wants it not. What is it?

What word most logically goes in the brackets: EASY [HEAD] HARD OOZE [....] FACT

You can draw me, fire me or fill me in. What am I?

Take a way the whole and some still remains. What am I?

Can you think of a word in the English language that has 3 sets of consecutive double letters in it?

What is neither inside the house nor outside the house but a necessity for any home?

If you count 20 houses on your right going to the store and 20 houses on your left coming home, how many houses did you count?

What word looks the same upside down and backwards?

And now for the big one, are you ready?

There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
