Protecting Our Farmers
Petz
As more Canadian Companies struggle to establish themselves against foreigners in our country the time has come for the government to start helping our farmers. Although it is great to have cheap affordable food, it is being achieved at the expense of the Canadian Farmer. With a minimal import tax, foreigner grain is undercutting the prices of Canadians. For a mere few cents, we should be buying Canadian. When asked to comment, Manitoban congressman Petz stated, "I will bring this to the attention of congress. We need to increase the important tax in order to make the canadian product and the canadian farmer first choice when it come to buying grain.".Hopefully the government takes action and allows canadian companies to prosper in this country.

I have heard other similar complaints lately from the other sectors, it's something thats concerning to me and if I get the chance I intend to put a stop to it.
I am going to have to agree with this article.
We need to increase import taxes for grain and food especially food.
We are being flooded with foreign food and it's ridiculous.
If Canada doesn't protect it's food industry then in the future we'll hit a food shortage when the eWorld hit's a food shortage and exporters stop exporting to us.
Protect local grain and food companies.
Agreed. If we allow imported food to dominate our market, it will put our domestic food companies out of business and then we'll rely to much on foreign food. If the world goes to war or there is a shortage of any kind, we will be in big trouble.
I can compete effectively at these rates (food Q2).
we understand that Q2 and higher can compete but it is the Q1 companies that struggle which is troublesome for our nation because #1 they can't make a profit to upgrade and #2 struggling forces layoffs which affect new lower level canadians.
Petz: ok. I had figured with grain prices down, it was easier to stay alive. Yes, I remember how hard it was in that little boxing ring.
