For many years, a constant struggle has existed between western and eastern Canada over which region is truly the backbone of the nation. Although the capital may reside in Ottawa and currently the economic lifeline of the nation comes from the west, the province of Manitoba, in particular the city of Winnipeg, remains the true geographic hub of our country. Situated in the heart of the nation, Manitoba is the logistical joint which binds both coasts together. Additionally the province is the new gateway to economic development and success as the Port of Churchill will open avenues of trade for our people and the nation. No one will ever question the contributions of the eastern and western parts of the country, but the time has come for the province and its citizens to gain national respect and acknowledgement as we move into new year! Manitoba, another strong player in this great country we call Canada!!!
