Join the new world

Well another month has passed, or four years in eRepublik time, and it is time once again to vote for members of congress. I will once again try to gain entrance into that group of distinguished Irish citizens known as Dáil Éireann. I will be running in the Southeast as a member of Eire Aontaithe but will switch back to Clann na nGael if lucky enough to gain your votes.

"Economy

Ireland has some very big challenges coming up soon. The ever present V2 is still on its' way and the changes to our economy and military will lead us to play this game a whole new way. My fellow party member and party president Citizen Snap has proposed an eGlobal Financial Information Gathering Group. This group will help Ireland prepare for the changes to come and put us on a strong footing for the future. I will help with the implementation of this group. It is too important for the future to not try to prepare for V2. We can not just let it happen and wait.

Military

Just before the last Presidential election it was learned that the UK, either as a joke or not , planned to invade the island of Ireland. Now they gave many reasons and made many comments in our press as to the hows and whys. Norway first they said, then we would get what was coming to us. Well Norway did not work out as planed for them. Then nothing. No invasion. They stopped trading with us which some have said has actually helped us so thanks UK.

This threatened invasion did spur Ireland into action. We reorganized the IDF and supply system. We tested this new IDF in deployments to Norway and India, Australia and now South Africa. I am deployed as we speak. I am Executive Officer of the IDF Tank Division and Commanding Officer of the 2nd Brigade. Our freedom and safety of Ireland depends on the strength of the IDF and I am working to help make our military be the best we can make it. As a member of the Dail I hope to provide ideas and experience to continue this work. Programs to help enlistment in the IDF, links to training methods and help for new soldiers are very important and have to be improved as much as possible.

North Ireland

Lastly I want to speak about Northern Ireland. Our recent trouble with the UK started over the issue of this region of our island. I want to say that I feel that Northern Ireland is ours. I will never stop trying to work toward the future where the flag of Ireland flies over a united Ireland. Militarily or through peaceful means does not matter. The UK can claim that Northern Ireland is one of their home regions given to them by the Admins. That does not matter. From the name to the geography, the region belongs with us. The UK does not seem to care about the region except that we once "took it from them". It is their pride they care about not the region. We will get it back one day. Negotiations or through war, I don't care as long as we get what belongs with us.

My campaign is not official yet since I am not in Ireland at the moment. I am fighting in South Africa with our allies. I will have to wait until the last minute to get back before the deadline to declare my candidacy. My responsibility to the IDF is of the utmost importance. I take that responsibility very seriously. I also feel that I can help the IDF by becoming a member of congress and help strengthen Ireland.
