Join the new world

Dear citizens of The eNetherlands,

Hereby I announce my candidacy for the position of Country President of The eNetherlands. I might not be the person of speeches, I'll present my plans nonetheless! Good plans don't need a good price, after all.

First about myself. I have been playing eRepublik for more than a year already and have experienced the ups and downs of our nation, the times when we stood atop in the international world and countries asked us for our favours, and the times when we were completely wiped off from the map by the Poles. In all that time, my experience has grown; I have been in government several times (In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs), been leading political parties (DemNL and TI) and can't be forgotten in congress. I think the time is ripe for me to candidate for the most responsible position in our nation, that of Country President.



*General Affairs
I as president will strive for an efficient and small government and joined institutions. Unneeded ministries will be scrapped (Ministry of Education and Culture) and be brought under other ministries. I'll start an initiative to simplify the Senate. Also our system of government formation will be looked upon, as the current compromise between the two dissatisfies. More of this can be read under the different ministries.

Being State Secretary will again mean something. Most of the time, State Secretaries are nothing more than a formality. In my government, State Secretaries will be trained to follow up their ministers.

*Home Affairs
The Ministry of Home Affairs will take care of safety and information issues, like weekly government updates and immigration.

The Ministry of Education and Culture will be fused with this ministry, but with a BUT. Our history has shown that the government, or any person within our nation has ever succeeded in attracting citizens. I'll not put a big effort in a 'babyboom' as it is decided by factors we can't influence. I'll instead focus on keeping new players active and playing, in a unique way. I'll contact the different parties in our country to recruit new players to their party, by helping them. The player will get help, maybe even food or supplies and the party gets new members. This will work a lot better than forced persons 'helping' people with standard welcome messages. This also removes the need of a big coaching system.

An update will be posted every week, no matter what. During my times as MoHA, I've learned how frustrating it is to collect enough information, because some government member simply just don't care. Not anymore!

SCI will be officially abolished, as an separate team is not needed anymore. Anyone can open a topic in the immigration forum, afterwards the Minister will just give an advice and the case is solved.

*Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible of our international contacts.

A bi-weekly update of international news will be posted. Also, the ambassador system will be reformed, cut or scrapped. We can't use the disorganized mess, with no added value.

*Defense
The Ministry of Defense (formerly called War) is responsible of defense issues.

We'll continue the progress which this Ministry had taken last months. Not cutting supplies for our big fighters, nor forgetting our beginning players.

*Finances
The Ministry of Finances is responsible of financial issues.

Same as Defense, no radical changes are needed. Continuity is not always bad!
