No Need to Panic / Geen Reden tot Paniek

Have you noticed last month has been a little slow, empty press, little going on in congress and general inactivity? Well having played this game for almost two years now, I can tell you there is no need to panic.

Apart from the time of the year that we find ourselves in when most of Europe are on summer holiday, and a lot of active players such as myself have also been able to buy these Infantry and power packs which allow you to hit like a maniac without having to worry about xp gain. This action which involved going through about 3000 Q7’s has taken me away from the other aspect of the game I enjoy.
You may ask how I was able to afford these kits. Well I was lucky enough to win the lotto, I spent about 60 gold and won the 500 gold jackpot, I then changed it into 135 000 cc which I used to buy the packs. Funny enough, yesterday when my superpowers expired I had exactly 500 gold back in the bank so it was well worth it at the end of the day. I however decided not to repeat the cycle as to get back all the money you spend on these pack is a full time job (at my strength level anyway) and involves waking up at three am to recharge your energy.

The Dutch political spectrum has also reached a stage in the cycle where the majority of the parties are aligned in their thinking. I am not sure why exactly, but I think maybe the recent despicable aggression towards us has brought us closer together as a people and a nation, which I think is a good thing.
One thing I have learned over the two years is that the game keeps re-inventing itself, just when it becomes boring and inactive something dramatic happens to create a stir in the community.


But saying that I plan to run for president this term, not to make dramatic changes, but to tweak a couple of things a little to stimulate a bit of extra activity during the term.

I aim to try to speed up the Nebula membership for us, as in the long run we cannot continue playing without an alliance and close friends.

I aim to get to the bottom of our actual financial situation and then work out a sensible financial plan going forward where we have enough money to play the game. I believe we are not in a financial position where we need austerity measures.

To entice people to buy the new Kits Plato has recently introduced tournaments on a monthly basis when the kits are due for renewal. If this trend continues, we need to be better prepared to profit as a country where we can. I plan to set if a committee to work with the DAF and other MU’s to review tournament information and strategize before they start. Even importing big hitters should it be profitable.

From a Defense perspective, we still have an active enemy waiting to strike us when the opportunity comes. We cannot sit back and relax, we need to be ready for when they strike. I will therefore work to retain our current MPP protection and keep our ears on the ground in respect of developments.

We have in recent times failed in assisting new players with the game mechanics and with their development. We need to do better, as they are our future. If I get elected we will publish a hints and tips article every week. I also plan to actively do better at helping people get to training at 90 a day. We need to go to them, not them to us.

As a country we are still not attracting enough players to our shores through immigration, I feel we should be approaching people we want in our country instead of just looking at the two applications we get per month. A proactive approach instead of a reactive one. Our falling numbers is more of a threat to us than Germany can ever be, so we need to look for good opportunities to remedy the situation.

I will introduce an activity minister this term, with the aim of creating activity during quiet periods.

Generally I like to keep it fun and not too serious as this is a game after all and people are here for the entertainment value, however I do have the ability to become serious when required to. If I do get elected I will do my best to increase the entertainment value for everybody, because I feel that is what it is all about.
