In a recent article Kaiser Alex has asked himself, why I am running, although my enthusiasm seems to lack. I will be honest to you, like I have been honest to everybody with whom I talked here in eRepublik. I have never aspired to this position, and this certainly distinguishes me from Alfred Ball. I stand here, because I strongly believe, that you need a choice in democracy and I seem to be the only willing person capable of running in addition to (I don’t want to say “against”) Alfred. This is the simple truth and I don’t want to hide it. While my enthusiasm as presidential candidate may be little, my dedication as elected president would be even bigger. Furthermore I promise every eAustrian citizen, that, the second I feel I’m not fit for this position I will immediately step down.
I have to say some words about my competitor Alfred Ball, with whom I actually don’t have any problems, as he already has done much for eAustria and is a reasonable person. Although he may seem harsh from time to time, I’m sure he only has the best in mind for eAustria – what that would be, is, of course, the subject of heated debates. He is surely one of the most active citizens here in eAustria and I wish him good luck for the elections.
But now to my positions in the most important topics:

Foreign Policy
Although I am no expert on foreign policy, I have learned one thing in my ambassador position: that communication, simply being in touch with on another can have a great impact on the relations between two nations. Therefore I want to revive the ambassador program, that seemed to have lost its momentum in the past months.
The question of whether or not to join an alliance is a very difficult one, and after the dissolution of PEACE eAustria is de jure a neutral or, at least, an independent country. As neutral countries have a very hard stand in eRepublik, I strongly believe that joining an alliance is extremely important for eAustria’s “survival”.

Constitution
Several times the NFA and Alfred Ball has talked about the idea of changing the constitution. Surely a evaluation process is needed once in a while and it is very important that a hefty majority of the eAustrian citizens agree on their constitution.
Along with this the question of our type of government has been brought up. Personally, I would call myself a monarchist and am open to idea of a Kaiser who is able to unify all eAustrian citizens, regardless of their heritage, under one roof. Such a far-reaching step needs, of course, a high approval rate both in congress and in the population.

Economy
On the economical sector I want to keep on working with our low tax policy, which has worked out quite well so far. Only some minor tax changes may be needed. Also I want push for a 0.02 Gold/ATS change rate again.

Infrastructure
There has been a question directed to me by stancel, about buying a second hospital for eAustria, along with several articles of SP-members. Once again I have to say that the benefits this action would bring don’t outweigh the high price of a hospital, especially since eAustria is still a very small country.
On the other hand, I’m in favour of installing a defence system in Burgenland, as the open war with eHungary is a permanent threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our nation. One possibility to do that is to re-open the state company Austrian Defense System or sell it to a willing private investor.


Meine Pläne für eÖsterreich

In einem kürzlich erschienenen Artikel hat Kaiser Alex sich gefragt, warum ich kandidiere, obwohl mein Enthusiasmus anscheinend begrenzt ist. Ich werde ehrlich mit euch sein, so wie ich zu jedem ehrlich war, mit dem ich bisher in eRepublik gesprochen habe. Ich habe diese Position nie angestrengt und das unterscheidet mich sicherlich von Alfred Ball. Ich stehe hier, weil ich glaube, dass man eine Wahlmöglichkeit in einer Demokratie braucht und ich scheine die einzige Person zu sein, die gewillt und geeignet ist, zusätzlich (ich will nicht "gegen&quot😉 zu Alfred zu kandidieren. Dies ist die einfache Wahrheit und ich will sie nicht verstecken. Während mein Enthusiasmus Präsidentschaftskandidat zu sein eher gering ist, würde mein Engagement als gewählter Präsident umso größer sein. Weiters verspreche ich jedem eösterreichschen Bürger, dass ich in der Sekunde zurücktreten werde, in der ich mich meiner Aufgabe nicht mehr gewachsen sehe.
Ich muss einige Wort über meinen Mitbewerber Alfred Ball verlieren, mit dem ich eigentlich keinerlei Probleme habe, da er schon viel für eÖsterreich getan hat und eine vernünftige Person ist. Obwohl von Zeit zu Zeit er harsch erscheinen kann, bin ich mir sicher, dass er nur das beste für eÖsterreich im Geiste hat - was das sein würde, ist natürlich Gegenstand erhitzter Debatten. Er ist sicherlich einer der aktivesten Bürger hier in eÖsterreich und wünsche ihm viel Glück für die Wahlen.
Aber nun zu meinen Positionen in den wichtigsten Bereichen:

Außenpolitik
Obwohl ich nicht ein Experte für Außenpolitik bin, habe ich eines in meiner Zeit als Botschafter gelernt: dass Kommunikation, einfach in Kontakt bleiben, große Auswirkungen auf die Beziehungen zweier Länder haben kann. Daher will ich das Botschafterprogramm, dass in den letzten Monaten anscheinend seine Eigendynamik verloren hat, wiederbeleben.
Die Frage ob oder ob wir nicht einer Allianz beitreten sollen, ist eine sehr schwierige und nach der Auflösung von PEACE ist eAustria de jure neutral oder, zumindest, eine unabhängige Nation. Nachdem neutrale Staaten in eRepublik einen sehr schweren Stand haben, ist der Beitritt in eine Allianz mMn essentiell für das Überleben eÖsterreichs.

Verfassung
Mehrere Male hat die NFA und Alfred Ball über die Idee geredet, die Verfassung zu ändern. Sicherlich ist ein Evaluierungsprozess ist von Zeit zu Zeit notwendig und es ist sehr wichtig, dass eine große Mehrheit der eösterreichischen Bürger ihrer Verfassung zustimmen.
Gemeinsam mit dieser Frage, wurde eine Änderung unserer Regierungsform angedacht. Ich würde mich persönlch als einen Monarchisten bezeichnen und bin offen für die Idee von einem Kaiser, der die Bürger eÖsterreichs, unabhängig von ihrer Herkunft, unter einem Dach vereinen kann. Solch ein weitreichender Schritt benötigt, natürlich, eine hohe Zustimmungsrate sowohl im Kongress als auch in der Bevölkerung.

Wirtschaft
Auf dem wirtschaftlichen Sektor möchte ich weiter mit unserer Niedrigsteuerpolitik weitermachen, die uns so weit gute Dienste geleistet hat. Nur einige kleinere Steueränderungen könnten von Nöten sein. Ebenso möchte ich die Gold/ATS-Rate wieder auf 0.02 heben.

Infrastruktur
Vor kurzem hat mir stancel die Frage gestellt, ob ich plane, ein zweites Hospital für eÖsterreich zu kaufen, dazu kamen noch mehrere Artikel von SP-Mitgliedern in den letzten Monaten. Wieder einmal muss ich sagen, dass die Vorteile, die eine solche Aktion bringen würde, bei weitem nicht die enormen Kosten eines Hospitals aufwiegen, besonders, da eÖsterreich immer noch ein sehr kleines Land ist.
Auf der anderen Hand bin ich für die Installierung eines Verteidigungssystems in Burgenland, nachdem der offene Krieg mit eUngarn eine permanente Bedrohung unserer Souveränität und territorialen Integrität ist. Ein Weg dies zu machen, ist die staatliche Firma Austrian Defense System wiederzueröffnen oder es an einen willigen Investor zu verkaufen.
