May 11, 2015
Hello all.
Well we have the first winners of the Article Endorsement Game. The last article had 10 endorsements total between the 25, 10 and 5 IEP options.
So with a guess of 11 the winner of the 25 category was Jshipman6430 who wins 200 IEP.
The only entries in the 10 and 5 categories were Crosseye and ReleasetheKrakken who win 8 and 4 IEP respectively.
Congratulations to you three and thanks for playing.
With the amounts endorsed from the first and second article we have 90 IEP for the large pool at the end of the term for the final contest.
So keep endorsing.

Yaaaaay thanks!
Many of these are questionable to different extent. Beer is just a straight out lie though.
I just posted it. I didn't fact check it. lol
I'm not having a go at you bud, it's a good post but like I said, some of them are questionable for various reasons.
Well the first submarine used in warfare was during the American Revolution so that was before 1878.
joly ( taking color photographs and boyle chemistry is so far right) although there was patent for joly's work in 1886
beer 7000 years ago in egypt soda water was joseph priestley who died in 1804 thereafter schweppes discovered mineral water - there is no entry for a robert percival
daniel peter a swiss invented milk chocolate. isnt this perhaps the biggest fake collectin of irish nventions i have not found 1 correct 1. also aircon was developed by an aafrican american in case you want to claim it as irish. 🙂
the atom was split by jewish scientist in the usa to develop the first atom bomb during world war II. In fact the splitting of it was the discovery. So our info cannot be correct as both sides was working on this.
walton was not a member of the manhattan project who comprised several scientist.
ur face is questionable
think schweppes developed soda water
Schweppe founded the Schweppes Company in Geneva in 1783 to sell carbonated water.[2] In 1792, he moved to London to develop the business there. In 1843, Schweppes commercialised Malvern Water at the Holywell Spring in the Malvern Hills, which was to become a favourite of the British Royal Family through to the present day.[citation needed]
carbonated water and soda water is the same thing
Joseph Priestley FRS (/ˈpriːstli/;[2] 24 March [O.S. 13 March] 1733 – 6 February 1804) was an 18th-century English theologian, Dissenting clergyman, natural philosopher, chemist, educator, and Liberal political theorist who published over 150 works. He is usually credited with the discovery of oxygen,[3] having isolated it in its gaseous state, although Carl Wilhelm Scheele and Antoine Lavoisier also have a claim to the discovery.[4]
During his lifetime, Priestley's considerable scientific reputation rested on his invention of soda water

Daniel Peter - The Inventor of Milk Chocolate
photo of Daniel PeterDaniel Peter was born in the village of Moudon, located in the Canton of Vaud, in beautiful, mountainous Switzerland in 1836. Peter attended school and graduated there. At the age of 19, his professor of Latin became sick and the local Board of Education asked Daniel to instruct the Latin class. As one can imagine, this was a difficult task for him as he had to teach students who were only one or two years his junior; nevertheless, he gave a good account of himself and his record is good on this score.
During the summer of 1852, Peter worked in the local food store of the widow, Madame Clement, who also owned a candle-making factory for the locality. The conscientious, dedicated working qualities of Daniel Peter were first evidenced here and he gained the esteem of Madame Clement. Four years later, Daniel and his brother, Julien, operated the candle-making factory while Madame Clement retained its control. The two brothers developed and improved the candles, which at that time in history were the only light source, and they sold well locally. In fact, the demand was such that the factory required a larger working space, and the brothers purchased a building at 19 Rue des Bosquets, in Vevey, Switzerland.
there was no walton in the manhattan project

A bungee-assisted escape from an aircraft took place in 1910. In 1916 Everard Calthrop, an early inventor of parachutes, patented an ejector seat using compressed air.[1] calthrop is british
The modern layout for an ejection seat was first proposed by Romanian inventor Anastase Dragomir in the late 1920s. The design, featuring a parachuted cell (a dischargeable chair from an aircraft or other vehicle), was successfully tested on 25 August 1929 at the Paris-Orly Airport near Paris and in October 1929 at Băneasa, near Bucharest. Dragomir patented his "catapult-able cockpit" at the French Patent Office.[note 1]
The design was perfected during World War II. Prior to this, the only means of escape from an incapacitated aircraft was to jump clear ("bail out"),[note 2] and in many cases this was difficult due to injury, the difficulty of egress from a confined space, g forces, the airflow past the aircraft, and other fa
yawn The first tank to engage in battle was designated D1, a British Mark I Male, during the Battle of Flers-Courcelette (part of the wider Somme offensive) on 15 September 1916.[19]
The first submersible of whose construction there exists reliable information was built in 1620 by Cornelius Drebbel
the holland 1 was the first submarine commissioned by the british army there is no mention of ireland.
although here is other contender due to his book boyle who is from ireland is considered the father of chemistry
During the last two decades of the 19th century, Gabriel Lippmann is remembered as the inventor of a method for reproducing colours by photography, based on the interference phenomenon, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics for 1908.[19]
The earliest rubber-soled athletic shoes date back to 1876 in the United Kingdom, when the New Liverpool Rubber Company made plimsolls, or sandshoes, designed for the sport of croquet. Similar rubber-soled shoes were made in 1892 in the United States by Humphrey O'Sullivan, based on Charles Goodyear's technology.
In the late 17th century, Hans Sloane, president of the Royal College of Physicians, visited Jamaica. There, he tried chocolate and considered it "nauseous", but found it became more palatable when mixed with milk.[13] When he returned to England, he brought the recipe with him, introducing milk chocolate to Europe.[13]
but wrong as it said milk chocolate he discovered chocolate milk. but I think that is bs as well as clearly the chocolate drink was already there probably somene gave him milk containng chocolate in jamaica and he d* claimed it as his own. btw he was a British noble of irish birth.
Bet you're glad you did this now, Anthony 😃
its AC's cunning plan to keep RTK busy..lol
not really already went through all that. quite interesting. strange how they misrepresented irish accomplishments to get more irish people to their site perhaps whilst on the other hand totally disrespect you people.
the schwepped one i knew as schweppes makes tonic and dry lemon and i read up on their make about last year. for example tonic water was used to embalm cadavers.
actually not there was somewhere that line but quinine is a malaria treatment. facts is fun lets play battleship facts each day.
goireland.com your number 1 booking. WHAT A JOKE!!!! website for visitors do not know that a romanian came up with the design of an ejection seat. the o'sullivan was a real brand and after the fact and was not even because he stood on his foot all day bit was inspired by charles goodyear. a real scientist and entrepreneur is transformed into some kind of waiter or whatever. On 1 page shows milk chocolate and then add the inventor of chocolate milk. where they high when they put it together.
actually guinness one is correct he did invent guinness lol but i dare to venture that maybe not the truth anymore. for example budweiser how much is that consumed in a country with 250 million citizens.
Top ten best-selling beers by volume in 2013:
Snow
Tsingtao
Bud Light
Budweiser
Skol
Yanjing
Heineken
Harbin
Brahma
Coors Light
by the way snow is owned by sab the second largest brewery in the world. Guinness isnt even on the list. but dont worry we will soon purchase it
XD
guess in ireland and the states facts is not very important ha ha ha.. its entertaining to claim a person who developed the first test for a ejection seat actually developed it. also its entertaining to drive in the short bus. also it fun to discuss on the left the product milk chocolate as invention and then on the right who invented chocolate milk. its fun to think an irish beer still sold to most drinks in the world although 1 chinest beer sold in 15 years what they sold in 133 years. its fun because we can all feel good that we all use our brains so little. ha ha ha. its fun ha ha ha we are the dumb irish . ehck we did not invent anything he he he so lets make shit up to make ourselves feel better.
Wow, RTK you spent so much time checking the facts.
I thought it was a nice read. Good job, AC.
wqw it took me an hour to check AC's facts. it must have taken him 10 seconds to not check his facts. guess that makes him some kind of genius by your logic tara c. oh why you took so long to check facts. because tara gettin your facts right is important. there is plenty of irish inventions but unless your using Wikipedia check your facts.. oh its not reliable..in fact it is if you do not agree with anything in wikipedia you can change it. did you know that tara of course you must motivate it but you can.
They are not my facts. They are the facts of a person who made the infographic I used to make an article for the contest.
weird i do not see his name here. you presented the facts. go stand in the corner Anthony!
what was particularly good about reading false facts?
Well first of all, I didn't actually believe any of it, because if any of it was true I would have learned about it in school. I just thought they were funny "facts" tbh. They made me laugh.
I don't see why you're still trolling though.
Also here's mention of John Phillip Holland to do with Subs - "Holland didn’t invent the submarine; military engineers had been trying for centuries to build a submersible vessel to attack enemy ships unseen. But he designed the first commercially successful one. Building a successful submarine is an engineering challenge." - http://www.irishtimes.com/news/science/john-philip-holland-the-irish-inventor-who-helped-take-the-war-underwater-1.1891563
If you want to keep trolling pm me 🙂 😘
there is history that proves there was others built before that. correct term is modern submarine which wikipedia credits him with the design.
how is presenting correct facts trolling?
this is good example of irish education: http://blog.findmypast.ie/2012/02/29/inventors-series-robert-perceval/
shows mistake on this page he was first to use it for medicinal purpose then credits the wrong person with its creation whereas wikipedia shows correctly the guy was first commercial manufacturer of it.
joly did invent taking color photographs but not making color photographs.
martin created the first test using a dummy not the actual seat.
after all tara we do not want you to lose 1000 pounds on who wants to eb a millinaire whent they ask you who invented soda water and you call your friend AC who provides you with answer Robert Percival - NOW DO YOU!
good job ac r u weird or something how the eff is that a good job? gettin most of your facts wrong is a bad job not a good job.
How did they turn into my facts? lol
check your facts u lazy arse
Again how are they my facts? I posted an infographic that was only a filler for the contest. I don't fact check every picture I publish here in the MoC. Unless it is an answer to a trivia contest then the whole idea of the MoC is for fun and to lighten things up. So again, when did they become my facts. And when did I say I did a good job?
Thanks Anthony. Really informative and interesting. Facts are awesome.
only 2 is correct most is wrong or halftruths
