Ministry of Community - Three ways to win!

Day 664, 17:22 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish Community

Dear all,

This article started life much, much longer but as a bunch of stuff is launching via this ministry this week I've divided it up, and the rest will follow on Wednesday. As a result my personal deadline for the 'friend the nation' scheme is being extended into next week.

When you see today's article and then Wednesday's I'm sure you'll understand why lol.

So the first thing I want to do is officially open up the voting on the Irish Community Awards.

The categories are:

Most Trusted Politician
Who of the current or recent TDs/Ministers etc. stands out to you as having fulfilled their campaign promises? Who's been honest and upfront? Who's served eIreland before themselves?

Most Acclaimed Publisher
Whose articles do you never fail to read? Who keeps you informed or entertained, who gets you thinking or explains things you might not have understood nice and clearly? Maybe they do all of the above.

Most Celebrated Soldier
Which of our soldiers stands out to you as one who should be applauded? Maybe they're a great leader, a tireless fighter - maybe they're both.

Best General Manager
Whose company/companies are always well stocked with raw materials? Maybe they stand out for another reason - do they offer any perks you couldn't get elsewhere, or are the wages are generous? If you think a general manager deserves praise here's your chance to give it to them.

Newcomer/Up-and-comer to Watch
Who, of level 10 or less, has already made an impression? Are they getting involved already, making their voice heard? Nominate them here.

Irelander of the Month
This can be anyone, for any reason. One Irish citizen who stands out to you as deserving of an award. Maybe they're a trusted poltician, and a great manager, and many other things... maybe they've helped you out when times were hard, or worked hard for the nation. Whoever and for whatever reason this is your chance to get them the attention they deserve. For this category a brief explanation of why you're nominating them would be greatly appreciated.

All winners in the above categories will recieve a badge they can use on forum signatures etc. and a mention in this very paper. They will also recieve a Q1 weapon.

There is a final category, which gets the badge and the mention but instead of the weapon they get to stand in the eNaughty corner:

Lovable Rogue
They're mischief but you love them anyway, or they stir the pot without actually doing harm. Does this sound like someone you know? Please nominate them here.

Closing date for nominations is 22.09.09, at 00.01 eRepublik time (8.01am GMT). Any ties will be resolved by a poll after that, if all categories are clearly decided at that point the awards will be given at the end of that week.

You may nominate in the comments to this article or via PM to this org or einberliner. Please try to nominate in most categories, even if you can't nominate in all. The explanation you give for why you're nominating a person for Irelander of the Month may be published, though any other nominations recieved via PM will be treated as anonymous.

If you nominate in a comment then, obviously, not so anonymous. It's unlikely to be an issue but, for obvious reasons, I am not eligible as a nominee.

And it's time to launch the first of two competitions! This one's for the writers out there.

We want to hear what's good about eIreland. Why should people move here? Why should they stay? Why are we a great nation? Things can get very negative around here but we want to know what you're proud of, what's best about this place.

If you have a newspaper you may post your article in your paper and link me to it here, if you don't then you can pm it to this account or einberliner - please do not post it in the comments here lol.

The winning article will become an official tool of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will be used to advertise eIreland to the rest of the eWorld, which you might want to keep in mind when choosing the style/form of your article. Use of a spellcheck etc. is advised.

The winning article will be chosen by a three judge panel - myself, Patton, and a representative from Ministry of FA (TBC) will confer and make the choice. The winner will recieve a Q3 weapon and 2 gold.

Closing date is the same for the award nominations. I anticipate having the winning article announced around the of next week, providing the judges' schedules line up alright.

The other competition may give you a sense of deja vu. I'm hoping to get the subscriptions up on this paper as that way each article should reach more of the nation, and therefore more of the nation will have the chance to participate in competitions, vote in awards, or get informed about what's going on in the community. As a result I'm asking for more shouting and, of course, I'm not above bribery.

This time three people will recieve something. The first drawn will recieve a Q5 weapon, the second drawn a Q3, the last a Q1. Closing date for this is Thursday 17th September, again at 00.01 eRep time (8.01pm) and you will need to make me aware that you have shouted. Again, you can PM this org, einberliner or reply to this article.

All competitions are open only to residents and citizens of eIreland, for the timebeing at least.

Please vote and subscribe!

Thanking you for your time,
~einberliner
