Lines Of Credit (LoC) are now available to governments and financial institutions as a way to balance finances, offer security for a potential future investment, and in the case of governments - allow a line of funds in the event that they are attacked.

LOCs are available for a minimum of 500 Gold and can be kept for as long as 4 months. If the LOC is never used, no payment is due, the line is simply closed. If, however, the line is needed - a pre-determined interest rate is put into effect and the Gold is transferred to the selected organization. The benefit in this situation is that a contract has already been signed, the Gold is already in reserve and therefore if the funds are needed urgently, they can be transferred in just a few minutes, compared to a few days for the average loan.

t'jelle Bank has already experimented with Lines of Credit, offering a 500 Gold LOC to World Capital Bank which went from being in a 4,000 Gold debt to having a 1,000 Gold profit. The line has been removed and they are now operating in a healthy manner. Two countries are already in talks with t'jelle Bank about the discussion of getting a LOC and we hope that more institutions and governments realize the benefit of having a secure, quick and cheap way of calling on funds from the largest bank in eRepublik - with over 8,000 Gold in deposits.
