Last Day In Office

Day 685, 18:31 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish Community

I had, originally, intended for this to be a more detailed but it turns out getting ready for a holiday to a cold place at the cold end of the year, right after you've lost weight, takes more effort than I had anticipated lol. On top of that eRep wouldn't let me on for an hour or two earlier.

So! Slightly truncated goodbye but hopefully still filled with all of the pertinent information.

Today is my last...in fact I'm in the last six hours, officially...in this position as, even if offered it I couldn't do it the justice that it deserves in the coming month, due to my RL vacation. I've greatly enjoyed my time here, though it is a lot of hard work, and will do my best to fully support the incoming Minister right up until I depart late next Sunday.

This week's lottery is still open (and could do with selling a few more tickets, get yours today!) and John Gormley won the house action, earning the Irish State Community Fund 235IEP.

None of the Community Award Winners have asked me to transfer their weapon across yet. As I will be leaving the post and don't want to leave any mess for my successor to clear up I will be sending them on to ye all tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

The ISCF has well over 300 IEP and 15g in its coffers, with various other amounts in foreign currency - a fantastic start, I'm sure you'll agree, to our communal bank account.

This paper now has 80+ subscribers (and if you're not one of them please subscribe today) compared to 55 when I took office and over 200 friends, compared to 14ish when I started. That said I never did get to add everyone as a friend, or at least request that, though I did get through about 350 of our top ranking citizens. It turned out to take a lot longer than I had at first thought and I wound up doing many more projects, successfully I feel (the ISCF, the lottery, the giveaways, comps) than I at first planned so I didn't quite get the time to see that through. I'd highly recommend my successor try to pick up the friending scheme as it got me responses (in terms of lottery tix bought, votes cast etc.) from several citizens I hadn't seen being overly active elsewhere, and it's a great way to involve people we might otherwise miss.

I also got wiki access and managed to make a few changes here and there, though the stats (which I updated a few times) are so ever-changing it's probably worth only altering them when there's been a significant change, I'd feel. The wiki is actually something I may continue to work on while out of office (because being out of office means I'll have the time, lol) as I think it's important to try and keep it up to date.

That's the major stuff, for now at least, save to thank everyone who's participated this month for their enthusiasm and community spirit. It's been a pleasure to work for citizens so keen and eager for all the events being run and while it's been time consuming it hasn't felt too taxing, given the great, positive response people have had. I would encourage people to continue participating as much as they can under the new Minister - I certainly will be.

Yours with eLove and in service,
Donut
