Today: No free stuff, no boobies, I’m talking about why the Australian Democratic Party is the best, and what I would like to see the party achieve, if I get elected Party president.
I would like to briefly mention my long term political goals. Having served one term as CP/dic was quite enough for me. I haven’t decided about future terms in congress yet- I think it is important to have senators who will question decisions and speak their minds. But that would be the highest gov office I would seek.
However- the Aus Democratic Party is the only 100% positive place I have found in eAus politics- so I’m staying there. I want to have fun in this game. That’s all!
Now, one more thing first, because this makes me smile, and it makes my heart glow, and today it is my gift to you:

(I'm having some trouble with this link- if it doesn't work, just search Ode to Joy flashmob) (then watch and listen) 😛
(btw the word "flashmob" was not yet invented when this came out)
Ok, everyone happy? Goodo, to business…
What will the ADP be doing? What we do best, only more of it…
We support eAustralia’s next generation: We will continue to take the lead in supporting our noobs.
> The director of the JDS has changed, yet again to an ADP member (Hail Guag! Hail Mongoosier!)
> All active members of the New eAustralian Mentors Team are ADP members, so we are restructuring this independent initiative as a party initiative
> ADP weekly food drops will include small amounts of food for all eAussie noobs, not just ADP members
We support having a fun and active party.
> We will maintain our party PM as the funnest (yep, I’m sure that’s a word) and funniest thread in eAus
> We will up the ante with more raffles/games/boobies/comps than ever
> We will work to retain our spot as eAustralia’s #1 party (yep, political party too)
We support young players entering government roles, at the party, congress, and cabinet levels.
> We will work to continue having the largest congress presence of all eAus parties
> We are currently looking at our talent base with an eye to developing young players who could assist the eAus gov in the MoEE
> We will identify new roles and titles within the party, so more of our active members can gain positions
That’s all I got- for a start. 😉
Join in. Speak up. Have fun!
And if you feel like it, vote JackTrout for ADP president on 15th October. I know if you could, you'd write in some comic or anime characters, ya wise guys! 😃
Cheers,
JT

Will you ensure that ADP congress candidates are active and take part in congress discussions and voting even if it is:
a) a boring long term MPP renewal?
b) a decisive issue that unfortunately you have to vote publicly due to the 'self dictatorship'?
Sorry for asking, but after the latest issue from a large congress base and less then 10 people voting, I personally would like to see an active congress, not one that becomes active after the fact.
As you well know, there is no way to force people to be active or to vote. That is a personal choice. However I would certainly encourage our most active members to represent us in congress.
I would ensure party members recognise that if they have no other obligation to their party, they have an obligation to vote- be it in elections, or law proposals if they are in congress.
And I would hope that the people in power will present law proposals fairly, by explaining flow-on effects and drawbacks as well as advantages. That way congress might actually take an interest and feel that their opinions are genuinely being asked for.
Also you might note that with 3 of the 8 votes, the ADP cast a higher proportion of votes than it has congress members.
Clearly this malaise is not just an ADP issue... It bears working on by everyone who cares about this e-country.
I know, hence why I supported Ilene's article. It has been a problem that has been going on for quite a while, even under a democratic country. But I am a member of the ADP, hence why my question is here.
I am not a congressman, I am no longer in cabinet or have a seat on Nebula, so I am asking as a concerned citizen.
Well you best be running for congress then! I am more concerned that people express an opinion than that they all agree...
The problem of an inactive congress is troubling, indeed. But I think it reflects a general low activity level, not just in gov.
So all I can see is, get more people involved in eAus by making more fun, then keep them involved by having more fun, then they will hopefully care enough to stay and maybe take on some of the work as well (which admittedly can sometimes be kind of fun, but not when such a very few people have to do everything).
But if anyone has ideas on getting congress more engaged, or any other crazy and/or brilliant plans- let's hear them, please!
