How I would have voted

Day 517, 11:58 Published in USA USA by ligtreb

As many of you know, I am running for Congress in Colorado and in my platform, I stress the importance of transparency and making votes public.

So it's only fair that I reveal how I would've voted on the issues before April 25th comes and you vote for me to do the real voting.

Here's a list of the votes on the current Country Administration page and how I would've voted.

Tax change: Food
My "vote": NO
Current status: 8 Yes, 19 No
Reasoning: I don't see the purpose of lowering the VAT on food and not for everything else. Also, we already have a budget in place, and this would give us less revenue.

New Citizen Message
My "vote": YES
Current status: 33 Yes, 3 No
Reasoning: This message is much-better formatted and promotes Meals on Wheels on top, which I like.

Donate
My "vote": YES
Current status: 33 Yes, 3 No
Reasoning: This will help keep our dollar stable, which is important.

New Citizen Message
My "vote": NO
Result: 2 Yes, 34 No
Reasoning: The formatting was awful, and President Scrabman has an unlimited amount of proposals, so he can keep revising this as much as necessary.

President Impeachment
My "vote": NO
Result: 2 Yes, 36 No
Reasoning: I wouldn't hesitate to impeach a President if he was doing a bad job, but Scrabman is doing a great job so far.

Donate
My "vote": NO
Result: 1 Yes, 36 No
Reasoning: This proposal (like the impeachment proposal above) was what's called a lulz proposal not meant to be taken seriously by a congressman on his way out. I hate these, as they waste Congress' time.

Minimum Wage
My "vote": NO
Result: 3 Yes, 38 No
Reasoning: I'm content with the current minimum wage level, as new players won't stay there very long.

Tax Change: Food
My "vote": NO
Result: 20 Yes, 19 No
Reasoning: Since this is the closest proposal of late, I would've definitely asked a ton of questions before voting on this one. I didn't see evidence of an urgent need to raise the import tax on food from 25% to 28%. I said in my platform that I don't like changing taxes without data to support it and continue that reasoning here. I can see the reasoning behind it though, this was a "soft" no if such a thing exists.

Issue Money
My "vote": YES
Result: 27 Yes, 7 No
Reasoning: While it might sound counter-intuitive, issuing money helps stabilize our dollar, as shown by One Eye's data. Evidence and data will make it easier for me to go along with changes in taxes and printing money.

New Citizen Message
My "vote": NO
Result: 3 Yes, 31 No
Reasoning: Formatting issues yet again.

That's all of the proposals on the main Country Administration page.

Thank you for reading, and if you're in Colorado, please vote for me on Saturday, April 25th!
