Two things are required to make a soldier independent of outside funding for fighting food.



1) Seven orchards and one wheat farm (22,500 USD) or three cattle ranches (25,500 USD) owned by the soldier. Cattle ranches are prefered, for a soldier should use his health to fight.

2) An employer with a Q5 food building willing to donate all the food the soldier produces back to the soldier or to the org that supplies the soldier.

Will the government fund such an investment in an individual soldier? Probability not.
How about a subsidy?

Are there self-sacrificing soldiers that would give up the income advantage of owning a Q5 food building to help supply soldiers with food? Yes. Where do soldiers commune now?

Are there enough Q5 food buildings available to provide a job for every soldier? Probability not.

The problem with infra-structure investment is that it is owned by somebody who might quit tomorrow.
