Chapter 1 Q5 Town Center
Part 4
Because of game mechanics the process of loaning a soldier a Q2 building (so he may upgrade his TC) takes 16 days.
1) 3 days for you to donate 27 gold to him.
2) 10 days until he can sell the company back to you.
3) 3 days for him to donate 27 gold to you.
____________________________________________________________________________
If the soldier had both an orchard and an aluminum mine, you could loan him both food and weapon Q2s on overlapping schedules.
____________________________________________________________________________
Loaning Q2s is simple, but in war the simplest things are difficult. There may be a shortage of Q2 buildings in the unit. There may be some who are unwilling to part with their Q2 buildings. Because units are segregated by damage levels, there is a shortage of gold to finance the maneuver within the units that need Q2 loans the most.

Now I go read it!
Minor point but it's call the "Town Center" by eRep.
And I solved the problem you speak of. Dealing with a few new players in my MU during the recent upgrade 50% off special made this work great.
> First you donate the 10 gold to upgrade their q1 food to q2, then donate the $2500 cash. ($2k for the Orchard, $500 for the upgrade, might need another $1k for the land to put the Orchard on.)
> The second day, donate 10 gold to buy the weapons co., downgrade the q2 food and upgrade the weapons to q2.
> The third day you donate another 10 gold to pay for the Aluminum, while you dissolve the Orchard to have a place to put it and cash to pay for the upgrade to the TC.
> Then, when done, I recommend downgrading the weapons and upgrading the food to q2 again. Either dissolve or try to sell the weapons, then dissolve the aluminum. I told my guys to put the 10 gold on the market while the price is inflated because of the sale. They used the proceeds to purchase 1 or 2 Cattle Ranches to supply FRM to the q2 food.
If they already had a q1 weapon the process takes 2 days, if not it takes 3 days.
I hear moaning about wasting money. If you guys knew how to run a business you wouldn't be broke. Just 'cause I know how to turn a buck don't blame me. (Sorry, I don't mean to be rude. I could just hear it coming.)
To Thedillpickl: Great trick. I'm so slow sometimes.
Not your problem, it is the way that people in the military are trained to think. That is why there are several people like me that never got involved in the military. I built myself up over time with help from my friends and a little help from my CC during sales. Now I wanna help new players get there faster than I did.
Sorry about the last paragraph in my comment. I really thought there would be people come along to bash what I've said. I just am hoping that some of the leadership in the MU/militia/military would look at my plan and implement at least part of it. No one in the US should want for weapons and food if they are in the military.
Sorry to sound like a bad commercial, but this seriously works. Weasel2 helped me just like this and I've progressed SO much more quickly than if I'd been on my own. Also, the added care and interaction has been a huge factor in me sticking with eRep. I'd also like to add that I started about a week before PTH2 and I'm easily several weeks ahead of him. And he has I-don't-know how much experience with the game.
