We asked Terran Loyalist to interview a few new Federalist Party members, and he came through with flying colors and some excellent interviews. He interviewed Tryee, Maxj158, SoljierBoyOHHHH, KngGilgamesh and Yung Osteo.

Federalist Media: Why did you decide to play eRepublik?
Tryee: Well I am quite interested in Politics in real life and wanted to find out how a simulation like this can work and I have to say it feels pretty real.
Maxj158: I played a long time ago and just decided to try and get back into it.
SoljierBoyOHHHH: Well to begin with it started as boredom but I didn't choose this country by luck. I may not be a citizen in real life in this country unfortunately, but I really like it and I hope that in the future will overcome its difficulties and will come first again. As for the game I decided to assist this country at least in this game.
KngGilgamesh: I actually don't remember it at all. Just got an anniversary email and decided to check it out.
Yung Osteo: I decided to play erepublik because my friend referred me.

FM: What attracted you to the Federalist Party?
T: To be honest, the size played a big role at first. But also looking at newspaper articles and the forums I got quite a good impression.
M: It's the biggest party and first one I saw.
S: When I first checked the politics I saw that the party was first democratically elected and for some reason also I was attracted by the name "sounds so american".
KI liked the political alignment and size
Y: I was attracted to the federalist party due to the fact that they helped out players of all ranks/ages, etc.

FM: Have the senior members helped you?
T: Not so far, but I haven’t asked for anything either. I'm sure they would.
M: Yes.
S: I was definitely helped by everyone here feds or not, plus everyone here seems pretty active.
K: Not yet
Y: Yes, the senior members have helped me, such as Kody, Fingerguns and Shuji.

FM: Would you like to be involved with the Feds in the future?
T: That'd be great! Just tell me how I can help.
M: Most likely.
S: I would like to say also as for my involvement with the feds that some pretty cool stuff is going on and I would definitely like to be involved in the near future.
K: Perhaps if I continue.
Y: Yes, I would.

FM: And finally, do you have ambitions for your eLife?
T: Figure out how everything works is a good first step I suppose.
M: Nothing particularly ambitious.
S: Last but not least, I like my life as it is. I am a manager in a business, I am paid good money and I fight as often as I can.
K: Self sufficiency for now.
Y: Ambitions include becoming a member of congress.

After reading the above interview, I just want to give a brief overview of how I became actively involved in Fed Leadership after only playing for a few months.
I actually used to play eRep sometime around ‘11 and ‘12. I wasn’t really active in my party, and had no hopes for a real leadership position. I eventually quit playing because I got tired of fighting the Serbian invasion, and I also had some major IRL changes.
I rejoined back in July just to see how things were, and if it was worth actually coming back. I joined the Feds because they looked to be the most active. At the time I didn’t think I would actually become involved, but I figured that if I was going to, it was best to be in a good party.
After about 3 months, I decided that I was interested enough in the game to actually put some effort into it. I PMed Kody5 shortly before the Party President elections and asked him for a job. When he offered to make me DoM, I jumped at it. Though, I was somewhat nervous that I wouldn’t be able to actually handle the job.
At the end of the term, I felt that I had performed up to my own expectations, so I willingly accepted a second term as cDoM with Ike. And that is where I am at the moment.
I plan to step down to an assistant position after this term, then take a break for a month or two before coming back for a bigger position. I may even try for PP if I think I can handle it.
To sum it up, I’m saying that it doesn’t matter how new you are, it’s fairly easy to get involved in Fed Leadership if you have some drive and are willing to dedicate some time to your job.
