Do not be disheartened!

Day 1,693, 08:09 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Lord Lewis Cromwell
Greetings fellow eUKers and friends around the world.

At the moment eUK is in a pretty poor position and I wish to re-assure any newer players that even though our position is quite precarious, we can recover from any eventuality without any long-term negatives. Our government is working hard to establish plans that will enable us to regain lost territories which, as you can see, our people are already eager to win back in resistance wars and contingencies. We are fighting both our french neighbours, the canadians across the sea and their allies at the moment. London is lost, our allies are helping as best they can while having their own problems, and our offensive on the canadians has started after their poor attempt to take advantage of our position. Ireland is also occupying two of our regions after breaking a swap agreement but are not currently attacking.

What I would like to do is to emphasise ways in which we can be more efficient with our limited resources, and hopefully explain why our military orders are sometimes not as obvious a choice when we have multiple important battles occurring at the same time. We are a relatively small nation, we have many newer players and all-in-all these are difficult times to motivate people to remain patient and stick around to help recover from our losses, but we can and shall.

Firstly, I'll explain what YOU can do to maximise our potential for winning battles. When you join a battle, you can see our glorious nation's progress clearly at the top of the battle screen. All that is important for our nation's victory and all that you can control is the % of the bar. Your damage pushes it in our favour and all that our goal is for each battle is to keep it over 50% until we reach 1800 points. Personal amounts of damage, what weapons you use, total input per person is all secondary information which we can work harder for personal medals and gains when our resources as a nation are not so scarce. Let's focus on winning battles, people, and regain our territories intelligently.

This is an example of maximum efficiency to win a battle:

Even 0.01% in our favour is earning us points, and this division won the battle for us. The resources saved from this battle could effectively be used in the next round, making victory for us more likely as we have to endure a minimum of 8 rounds to win the campaign and regain our land, by accumulating points from repeating round victories. Dealing a million damage in one round means nothing if WE lose the other 7 rounds. This fact remains true for every division, for every player regardless of strength or experience. Unfortunately we lost this campaign for London but we shall regain it in time.

Secondly, I'll get to our orders. We should all choose a Military Unit (MU) in order to become part of a collective and have more co-ordinated damage in our important battles. I am a member of the ESO Legion, led by capable leaders who know what we need and where we want it, most of our MU's are co-ordinating with eachother and the Ministry of Defense to make us an efficient and effective force. If you are not sure about where to battle, check your orders - if you're still not sure where to fight DO NOT waste your resources fighting in a random battle. Wait until you have confirmation of orders in your MU feed, IRC or even on the forums if needed. The most important point is that your fights are valuable, our strikes need to be in one direction and you must trust your leader's orders once they are confirmed.

Sometimes lately we have been forced to forsake one battle in favour of another. This has even meant on occasion that we lose a home battle to help an ally. There are reasons to these decisions, we need our allies as much as we need our fellow countrymen. By prioritising their important battles we fulfill our obligation to them and in turn make ourselves a worthwhile ally that our allies will be proud to help. France, once our proud neighbour and friend as a nation, is now running rampant through our land because they understood this fact and utilise their limited resources in an effective fashion. We have had previous governments who denied the importance of looking after our national friends and since suffered for it. Luckily our government changes and we have plenty of very capable individuals to organise us once again into a nation we can be proud of.

Lastly, keep your chin up! Canada has been rebuffed already thanks to our stalwart efforts and exceptional allies, victory on their soil will strengthen us for our homeland battles. France is troubling us but occupation will not last forever (they, too, are almost entirely occupied), utilise yourselves effectively and enhance our chances of victory in future battles! For our country, be patient and remain vigilant! Every Single One of us counts.
