Greetings citizens of eJapan, this is the continuation of my previous articles about interesting facts about Japan, you can read the previous ones here - part 1 and part 2. So without further delay here are the facts that you may or may not know about rl Japan.



Did you know...

1) The highest point in Japan is at Mount Fuji, which stands at 3,776m.

2) Almost three quarters of Japan's land is either forest or mountains and it's difficult to be made into farms, industrial or residential areas.

3) Japan sits along the “Pacific Ring of Fire”, so it has many volcanoes and experiences many earthquakes every year.

4) Due to gases produced by power plants, Japan sometimes suffers from acid rain.

5) Japan is a world leader in robotics. Japanese engineers are known for producing a range of human-like robots such as ASIMO.

6) Japan is home to many different forms of martial arts, like Karate, Judo, Sumo, Ninjutsu, Kendo, Jujutsu, and Aikido.

7) Sumo is recognized as the national sport of Japan, although the most popular spectator sport is baseball.

8 ) Japan hosted the 1940 and 1964 Summer Olympic games, both times in Tokyo. They also hosted the 1940, 1972 and 1998 Winter Olympic Games.

9) Japan will host the 2020 Summer Olympics games which will be held in Tokyo.

10) The city of Tokyo consist of 23 special wards, 26 cities, 5 towns and 8 villages and each of them has a local government.
