Join the new world

Hello, my name is Devon Donaldson and I am running for the state of Virginia this February. If elected, you can expect me to be very active and do my best to do what is right for our country.

Issues:

Taxes: I think the eUS has a good system of taxes. Some people say our taxes are too high, and that might be true, but we need all that money to support our big military; the military in the new world is everything. Right now, more than ever, we need to make sure our treasury has enough money to go about fighting Phoenix and doing to fund all the other programs in the eUS government.



Foreign Policy: I spent a long time being the Ambassador of eIreland, so I know that foreign policy towards neutral nations is very important; it can be what causes a nation to like or resent you. If you treat another nation fairly and with respect and they see Phoenix treating other nations like disposable pawns, then they will most likely favor us. However, I am now retired from being an Ambassador and was offered a job in the Department of Internal Database. I currently collect information on SoL nations and compile them on the eUS forums for our government to use when they need to know things about those nations.



Fortress strategy: I fully support the fortress strategy, and for this reason I live in the region of Karnataka, citizens of Virginia, bear with me the fortress strategy is truly whats best for our country, we would not have survived the invasion of North America if we didn't have the strong fortress of Florida, PEACE didn't even have enough GOLD to attack the region, I believe in the fortress strategy because I believe in America.

Citizenship Requests: I know the waiting list for immigrating to the eUS is currently quite long, I would do my best to help speed it up by joining the Immigration Enforcement Subcommittee (IES) and doing my best to keep on top of the list of people waiting for citizenship in the eUS, of course I do not support giving our enemies citizenship.



Military: I believe we must have a very strong military, as strong as we can make it, because let's face it: this game is about war, and we do not want to be on the losing side. I support programs such as Guns4Huns 100% because I remember how we lost in the battle for Kyushu because we didn't use the Guns4Huns program even though its more efficient than tanking.

Invasion of the eUK: I do believe that we needed a war before we attacked the eUK, and we should almost always stay at war, but since our failure at the battle for London, I think we should pull out, we have nothing more to gain by staying in the eUK, we only have GOLD to lose.



Hospitals: The last few days I have seen a ton of articles and ads about whether or not we should abandon the fortress strategy in favor of building a bunch of lower Q hospitals in every state; so I thought I would give my opinion about some of the aspects of what abandoning the fortress strategy would do to our country:

First of all, if we did do this even if someone like Max Mcfarland did pay for all the hospitals, it would cost money, money that could have been used for something else keeping that in mind, lets say that building all those hospitals would take 1000 GOLD to build. That is 1000 GOLD that could have built a great deal of houses or 1000 GOLD that could have gone into an important battle.

Next, let us consider how painful it would make retreating battles if someone like the eUK attacks to try to block our initiative; every time we retreat, another hospital would be destroyed, and it doesn't end there; say our ally, Canada, wants to region swap with us for whatever reason, that would also destroy hospitals. Again, we find ourselves getting weaker, not stronger, for something that cost us a great deal of GOLD.

Now let us look at the past when we subscribed to the idea of building a bunch of lower Q hospitals; there isn't much proof that it even helped our player retention at all People in favor of building all these lower Q hospitals argue that during the invasion of North America, we had better player retention because of all the hospitals but I submit that it was because of the massive invasion of the eUS that kept the newbs interest.
