De nieuwsbrief van Pieter 't Hoen

Vanaf 25 juli 1940 verscheen in Nederland onder de naam De nieuwsbrief van Pieter 't Hoen een verboden gestencild krantje met politiek nieuws. De nieuwsbrief werd gemaakt door Frans Goedhart. In de loop van 1940 zocht Goedhart contact met diverse figuren die voor de oorlog belangrijke posities innamen binnen de pers en de sociaaldemocratische politiek, maar wier werk door de bezetting onmogelijk was geworden. Zo ontstond de groep oprichters van de verzetskrant Het Parool.

Het is weer hommeles met Duitsland en dus tijd voor een nieuw Parool.

Het is de bedoeling het nieuws uit Nederland en de wereld te brengen, net zoals al die andere kranten dat ongetwijfeld proberen te doen. Het Parool zal daarom niet alleen nieuws brengen, maar ook duiding.

From the 25th of July 1940 on, a forbidden stencilled newspaper with political news was published, by the name of 'The Newsletter of Pieter 't Hoen'. The newsletter was written by Frans Goedhart. During 1940, Goedhart sought out several figures who had been prominent in the press or politics before the occupation, who's work had become impossible due to the war.
