Cyprus Falls as Indonesia Reignites Conflict with Australia, Day 1108

Day 1,108, 17:39 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Day 1108 has been a day without an abundance of activity, although more is happening than initially meets the eye. As the eUK seeks to regain its full size and remove both invading countries, eTurkey destroys a small neighbor while eIndonesia reignites conflict with a long-time foe, in search for new materials.

Turkey Overwhelms Cyprus
eTurkey attacked Northern Cyprus, eCyprus, on Day 1107 at 09:51. Easy source of grain for the eTurks, as the recent materials allotment left the Phoenix power without any grain regions of their own. Cite new country’s status and introduction three months ago. At 01:59 on Day 1108, eTurkey moved on Southern Cyprus and quickly overran the entire island. The smallest country in the Mediterranean has been eliminated for the time being at no surprise to anyone, but it will be interesting to see if eGreece or eIsrael intervene at any point. Some speculate that eTurkey may seek to return the favor to eGreece, who occupied all of eTurkey for a short time nearly 50 days ago, so eTurkey may be making the next moves in this theater, as well.

The eUK is contesting to regain all its territories
and become the sole country on Great Britain

UK Fighting to Reach Full Size
eUK is expanding rapidly and regaining much of its regions after winning several campaigns versus the eUSA and eCanada on Day 1107, taking back six occupied regions and removing the eUSA from Great Britain. The Phoenix ally continued its counteroffensive with a resistance war (RW) for North East of England, adding conventional attacks on Yorkshire & Humberside on Day 1108 at 04:20, and a 14:13 attack on Scotland to challenge all the remaining territories occupied by EDEN on the island. The eUK seems to be leading all three battles, and barring a change in priorities by either side, is poised to become a whole country once again. eCanada does still have holdings in eIreland and may cross the Irish Sea to try and reassert itself, but nothing at this point suggests an invasion is imminent.

eIndonesia’s attack gives the country potential access to new saltpeter and aluminum regions,
as well as eNew Zealander iron (circled) and deer (squared) if eIndonesia so desired

Indonesia Declares War, Attacks Australia
Following a declaration of war with widespread approval, eIndonesia launched the latest installment of its aggression against eAustralia by attacking South Australia on Day 1108 at 06:47. The new raw materials discussed in the previous article give eIndonesia impetus to make the move, as a victory in South Australia will provide a grain resource, while also enabling eIndonesia to eventually move against Northern Territory’s saltpeter reserves, as well as aluminum in Victoria in the coming days. Iron resources in the eNew Zealander regions of Canterbury and Ortago may also be enticing opportunities for eIndonesia to increase its resource reserves in later days, while the concentration of deer in Wellington may be yet another incentive. However, although eNew Zealand poses much reward to eIndonesia, the small country’s alliance with eSerbia may spare eNZ from any invasion, although the quest for maximum self-interest may drive eIndonesia to traverse the Tasman Sea.

What’s Next
To some extent, we are seeing the new raw materials change the focus of warfare. Clearly, we are not seeing the onslaught of indiscriminate battles which transpired prior to the changes. Instead, we have seen focus on areas of material importance, or some countries (in the case of eIndonesia) returning focus to a traditional rivalry which now holds greater significance. Once the world’s leaders and military minds have had the time to evaluate the world map and chart their own plans, we may see a resumption of greater-- albeit, strategically focused-- conflict again.
