CP Election - Know your candidates

Day 2,601, 14:53 Published in Ireland Ireland by Elite C

I asked each of the candidates a series of questions in relation to the upcoming CP Election and gave them 24 hours [as usual] to respond. I received a response from An Sluaigh and Cry of the Banshee, whilst 5n4eyes failed to respond.

1. What qualities do you posess that would make you a good CP.

An Sluagh: I think I possess most of the qualities that a good CP should have. I am very vocal and won't shy away from issues - I deal with them head on and have done so honestly. I am also generally quite organised in my work. It's for my organisation that I first began working as deputy Supreme General in Aurora and how most of the projects I do get involved in turn out to be quite successful.

My greatest quality is I'm a hard-worker. I put in the effort and will continue to do so if I know we can succeed. I don't tend to slack from any job that needs doing.

Cry of the Banshee: active and more interested by the country than by my personnal success. so i am not afraid to make important decisions.

2. What eperience have you in politics in eRepublik that will stand to you?

An Sluagh: have served as a congress member several time in eIreland, Norway and in the United Kingdom. From my brief three months in Norway I served as Minister of Defense, Minister of New Citizens and also became one of their representatives to the alliance Asgard. Within Ireland I have worked in nearly all ministries. I have done spreadsheet work for the Ministry of Finance, I've done ambassador work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I've worked as Minister of New Citizens and Minister of Statistics. Since January I have served as Minister of Defense every consecutive month with the exception of one. I have been deputy Supreme General of Aurora twice and the Supreme Commander once.

I've played politics and I've played diplomacy. I'm well experienced to be fair.

Cry of the Banshee: already know the role is a major gain of time. + the fact i can recall some frienship gained during my term with other players from other countries.

3. Do you think the government should provide funding to all Military Units or should the government encourage the use of communes by each MU, or have you another position on the matter?

An Sluagh: Of course I believe the government should fund all MU's that follow government orders. The problem is the cost of this. We can't fund every MU as it would cost us a lot more than we earn at our current revenue. If people want this to happen we would need to increase our taxes and the general population will be opposed to such things. Our current system of funding just the Irish Army is best. One central unit that follows government orders. It's easier to manage, focuses our damage in one battle and makes costs much more accountable.

Cry of the Banshee: i think we have to encourage the irish army MU and communes. it works well like this.

4. If you were not running which of the other two candidates would you vote for?

An Sluagh: To me that's a tough question. I like both individuals but for CP I don't know if I would want either. 5n4keyes hasn't really done anything for Ireland in I don't know how long. He's been quiet and rather dormant. Is he willing to put in the work for such a big job? As for Cry of the Banshee, she has served twice as CP but what do we have to show for her two terms? Yes we had an AS on Saudi Arabia and the following invasion of Greece but what else happened. What has Banshee done besides recently besides fight and be in congress? I don't mean to be critical but there is so much more work that can be done all of the time, I'd like to see both other candidates contribute elsewhere and serve under people a bit more.

Cry of the Banshee: if i didn't run i think another candidate from my party or ILP would be candidate so i would vote for him.

5. Have you any plans to talk to alliances in your term or are you happy staying neutral?

An Sluagh: I will always keep an open book to alliances. In the recent poll released by the current Ministry of Foreign Affairs it outlined the public's preferred nations to which we should align to. These need to be taken into consideration as well as current allies, our location, timezones and many other factors. I don't see us getting into an alliance next month but I do see us building stronger friendships. Within the past three months we've been attacked by an Asterian and a LETO nation - staying neutral may be difficult if one side is attacking us and the other side is defending us.

Cry of the Banshee: no i am not happy to be neutral, it's a major point of my candidacy, find new alliance and talk with our closest friends that are in war in this moment.

Remember to vote everyone.

All the Best,
