Day 585, 04:47 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish Community
Lottery:

Apparently GarretDA is too busy to run the lottery. I am working on a solution.

Awards:

Don’t forget to make your nominations for these awards. Did one of your fellow soldiers take a bullet for you? Has a politician gone

out of their way to help you with your concerns? Has any editor gave you goose bumps with their way with words? Has your employer

made you feel like a valued employee? Let us take notice of the great and the good of eIreland by awarding them a Community Award!

P.S. Still no feedback on possible prizes and donations. 5 IEP? A piece of Q2 food? A weapon? A pat on the back? Let me know!

The eIreland quiz:

Congratulations to Vanya323 for winning last week's quiz. What prize shall we give her?

University:

Experience has taught me it's useful to know things, and that it's handier to know something then to not know anything. So what are

you waiting for?

Head over to the University and learn something useful! Here are the classes currently on offer:

International Diplomacy and Communication:

The primary purpose for this course is to provide you, whether you are a burgeoning international ambassador or a soldier being

sent out on missions to foreign lands, with tools and knowledge that will allow you to converse and interact with citizens,

governments and military establishments effectively and intelligently, anywhere in the world.

No, this isn’t a foreign language class. Well, maybe it is. In this class, you will begin to understand what drives the hearts, the

passions and the politics of both the eRepublik world, and the world in Real Life, and you will learn how to communicate more

effectively, even across language barriers.

eIrish History:

The first ever Local Elections toom place on the 20th this month. For those not born in the times of Beta like myself. Mayors ran

the cities in Ireland setting House and Company Tax in their regions. House Tax was a tax on you if you were lucky enough to own a

house, Failure to pay the House tax would see your house destroyed. The same goes for Company tax but replace the word House with

your company. Anyway Local Elections saw patton become Mayor of Waterford (Now The Southeast) the rest of the Mayors are a mystery.

Like most things from this month going by articles. (Seriously why didn't the admins put dates on articles? WHY!?)

Basic Irish:

Dia duit gach daoine, tá siúl agam go bhfuil sibh go maith ar an lá alainn seo!

Helo everyone, I hope you are all well, today we will work on a few basic phrases, as a small taster of the language.

First off,
Saying hello:

Paul: Dia Duit a Sheáin! (Deea Ghwet a heann)

Sean: Dia is Muire Duit a Phól (Deea iss Mwere det a foal)

So the first person says Dia Duit and the reply is Dia is Muire Duit. Easy enough.

Mentor system:

We have a truckload of mentors waiting for any new citizen or even elderly citizens looking for advice. They are simply lonely

hearts looking to reach out to someone. Reach out to them, and they will receive you kindly! Find them here!
