CJCS Address | Marine Corps Introduction | Last Week Airborne
vrpanch
Before anything else I must thank Cyber Witch for what literally has been years of service as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Her tenure has seen great changes to the game including the introduction of separate division sub-battles, in-game military unit structures, training grounds, special in-game missions, houses, and countless economic reforms (most of which did not work) and the realignment of the game itself to lower population levels throughout the eRepublik ‘New World’. She has held the eUS Military together during these game changes and has reinforced its position of respect as one of the major, independent eUSA Military Units.
The position of Chairman now falls to me. When looking at those that have previously served I acknowledge that I am not particularly qualified to take on the position. I have a lot to learn and I will make mistakes and missteps. I ask for understanding at this time of transition.
One thing that has surprised me during the transition so far is that no one in the broader community has leveled any criticism about previous controversies surrounding the eUS Military’s conversion from being the government military to being an independent military unit. This may be due to the fact that game changes now favor multiple military units in any given ecountry. Let’s face it, any analysis of current battle damage clearly shows the majority of damage is contributed by fighters in independent military units.
Coordination of action between independent MUs and government is now required. Communications must be open and I believe all parties to the relationship now have made a commitment to the mutual respect needed for success. I believe that this normalization of relations with government may be Cyber Witch’s greatest contribution during her service as CJCS, even though she may not admit it. She achieved this thru a stubborn persistence in our military’s right to be an independent unit over many years and I appreceate that her efforts resulted in what can now be a transition of leadership within our MU that is seen in the broader community as, at best, merely a curiosity.
Within this much improved atmosphere I still do need to reaffirm a few “values” that must continue in our organization. The eUS Military is an independent military. We accept no tax dollars. We decide who to recruit and promote. As any MU we select the daily order, rank our own priorities and direct our unit’s members. We invite those of all parties, all levels of political, media, or production activity. The only restriction I ask is of those that serve on the JCS itself. Their jobs are demanding enough and to prevent conflicts of interest I ask that they do not serve as a cabinet member or as POTUS.
We are a eUnited States military. We will generally be following the established government priorities; however, I would much rather try to be the fifty-first percent in a winning battle that might be a secondary battle or ally’s battle than to be the seventy-first percent in a blowout that was set as the government campaign of the day many hours earlier and quite frankly probably should have been changed already. In fact, I see this ability to engage and win in multiple targets, at times, as necessary in the game today. This is also where the nation’s many MUs can come in handy. It is often most efficient and practical for us to pursue separate targets simultaneously by effective use of multiple MUs. If you see us fighting somewhere other than the government’s prio #1, it is almost always for this reason. Once again, this military unit will fight in the eUSA national interest!
To those in the eUS Military that may not know this: my favorite part of the game is watching the battles. The game does offer times when a small group of fighters can change the outcome of close battles. I like to seek these opportunities out. With the properly timed contributions of even just a few fighters, battle rounds can be won. To this end I pledge to you that I will make every effort to provide just this type of leadership, identifying and taking advantage of these types of opportunities are what make the game fun.
To effectively take advantage of these opportunities I at least need a core group, in each of the divisions, to be available to undertake these lightning strikes. I urge all of you that can be on IRC at least for a time to come on. You may find lively conversation about many topics at times there, or perhaps it is just a matter of idling there should an order be broadcast when a chance to flip a wall at a critical time becomes available.
Due to retirements there have been many changes in leadership in most branches of the eUS Military. Many of these new officers are now learning their new roles and undertaking other assignment I have asked of them. I now ask one more thing of them, and publically in this forum. I ask that each takes a leadership role in keeping orders on the forum updated, to be on IRC in our channels when they are online, to actively direct those available at the time to sway the close battles they can identify and to foster a community spirit with all those that join our branches and want to contribute to our enation. The fact of the matter is there is never a long period that one of us isn’t online; we need to make the most of it.
Finally to our Marines, Airborne, Army, Mobile infantry, National Guard and Training Corps members, I get that our community is our success. To the extent that we have a vibrant community we will recruit and retain members. And we have many kinds of members at that.
We have those that really are two clickers; signing in, working, fighting, perhaps with little other time to contribute. Community to these folks is the sense that they can fight as part of a coordinated team. To these players I pledge up to date forum battle orders and current in-game daily battle orders. For a click or two more: commune opportunities and enhanced supplies.
For the social animals, we have the expanded forum threads and IRC channels. For the ambitious, anyone willing to help out with administrative tasks, recruiting or training, please contact me or your branch CO. This type of involvement is the path to promotion. We are attempting to provide a weekly all branch paper for those of all activity levels and for the general eUSA public.
My open door policy is that I will be on IRC daily. My office is in our MU IRC channels. I welcome your ideas, criticism and input. I learn thru direct interaction and value frank interchanges and debate. For those not on IRC, I respond to forum and in-game messages.
I look forward to serving our community here in the eUS Military and the broader eUSA and I thank all for their support during this transition.

The eUnited States Marine Corps is one of the oldest institutions in the nation. Our lineage traces back as far as our founders, with legends such as Eugene Harlot, Deficius, Alexander_Auctoritas and John Largo serving in our ranks. As the premier strike force of the eUS Military, the Marines continue to serve as the nation’s first responders to a major military crisis.
If you’re interested in joining the Marines, you must first meet our minimum requirements.

Division I: Bttrambly with 134 kills. Also he is the only Division 1 we have, so not really a big deal.
😉
Division II: JoeyJ with 551 kills, and ADFGDF in second place with 291 kills
Division III: Mashaka Kulala with 1674 kills, he also had the most kills out of everyone in Airborne. Christopher L. Ripple has second place with 1259 kills, followed by M A V 1 C with 1043 kills. Great Job Division III. Awesome damage, keep it up!
Division IV: Leroy Combs was first with 1475 kills, he had the second most kills in Airborne. Omp21 was second with 1015 kills, followed by Zonmei with 882 kills. Keep it up Division IV, we can’t let Div III get ahead of us.
Mashaka Kulala and Christopher L. Ripple came in 2nd and 3rd in the Entire MU for Division III.
Seeker1 came in 1st in Division IV, with 3,760 kills!
Great job everyone!

Here are some jokes to end this week’s article on a lighter side.
1. What did the pepper shaker say to the salt shaker? You’re sodium cute.
2. Playing 8-person smash was one of the deepest and most thought provoking experiences I’ve ever had… I spent the whole time trying to find myself.
3. I always assumed you took off your pants during a prostate exam. But apparently that’s “not appropriate for a medical professional.”
4. I told my date to text me when she gets home. I guess she must be homeless.
5. I have an amazing psychic ability to find object just before people lose them. Unfortunately, the police call it theft.

How do you (or do you currently?) coordinate with the NSC? Perhaps clarify how you communicate with the government?
And do you realize that MU leaders are often members of cabinets and are able to do so in a way that doesn't negatively impact their respective MUs?
The CJCS and vCJCS are a part of a mass PM which the NSC uses to let the military priorities be known to the nation's MUs. I believe that they communicate it quite efficiently to the eUS Mil, and cooperation with eUS Mil in recent months has been extremely good.
Also this month, SVV is a senior advisor in my cabinet.
@Deepchill, you had better be careful, SVV is a JCS and the cJCS has just stated that sitting members of the JCS cannot be in a cabinet.
While I advise the President, I'm not a Secretary, I don't work on the NSC, I don't even have an actual job. I'm just privy to what's going on and provide my $0.02 whenever President Deepchill would like it.
And what do you think my JCS Liaison job would have been doing that got me suspended 😛
I'm just poking a hypocritical organization, that's all SVV, if they like you then you won't have a problem.

Good lord that was a lot to read, not even one pretty women.... to keep me interested in the whole article
My favorite part was when they listed the legends in USMC. 3 dead, 1 in USAF.
One question though, how do you decide what us in America's best interest without asking the government what their plans are? Sounds like you're just doing what is in your own best interests.
'We will generally be following the established government priorities; however, I would much rather try to be the fifty-first percent in a winning battle that might be a secondary battle or ally’s battle than to be the seventy-first percent in a blowout that was set as the government campaign of the day many hours earlier and quite frankly probably should have been changed already.'
So long as they fight in battles for America or for an American Ally they would be fighting for American interest. Believe they made it pretty clear how they will select their priorities, turning a battle instead of wasting damage in a battle already won IMO is commendable.
FS: to ignore the fact that from time to time the JCS actively fight _against_ American interests would be disingenuous (e.g. Canada) - hence the very careful phrasing they seem to have used in this article 🙂
If they followed prios set by NSC they wouldn't be wasting damage. That's why the NSC always has multiple battles listed.
Artela, In your mentioned Canadian Campaign; HALF OF ALL eAmericans fought for Canada, not just eUS Military. For the record we did not order any of our members to fight for Canada, the fact that half of them may have was something they shared with all MU's, including the government branches as well!
And I remember the threats and badgering that the government hurtled at their member players to try to keep them in line. It was not a good time in the game for all of us.
The real question is why did the politician's purposely go down a path that they knew in advance would so divide the eNation? Oh yeah, now I remember..."for the lols of it.
dmj, I guess haters will be...
MUs are here to stay, including eUS Mil. There are enough bodies buried in this game, some out of mere pettiness. I have made my pledge to the common good. Let's move forward!
As usual DMJ sees the change of guard as an opportunity to insult his fellow Americans instead of reading the content of the address and noting the respectful tone in which jadiv addresses the government and heralds Cyber Witch's accomplishments in normalizing eUS Mil/ Gov relations.
I suppose it's nothing but another disappointment from an already disappointing player.
Love you too, Oblige.
I see it as more of the same isolationist attitude from an organization that doesn't want to move past old feelings.
Do you blame them for not wanting to be friends with you? I don't.
Do I blame them for sticking to the same shit and expecting people to see it as progress? Yup.
Get your nose out of their ass, Oblige. It's not going to make them like you.
Supplies ?
What ever they offer you I will give you more 🙂
I'm not going to change MU , but I would like to know how my taxes' money are spent (500 cc for day ... 15.000 cc for mounth) and the difference of supplies private MU and public MU
send me a pm. do you self supply?
Quartucciu We have no affect on your taxes. We are an independent MU, and as such receive NO tax money from the USA govt. If you have tax issues, take it up with the Govt. and their MU the USAF.
In USAF, the official military unit of the United States, you'd receive up to 3 drops of 30 tanks each day.
1 day = 90 tanks ... ??? it's impossible !
Not if ya tax enough! 😃
USAF funding accounts for less than 5% of tax revenues.
