Canadians Counterattack - Momentum Shifts

Day 601, 20:40 Published in Austria Austria by Rangeley

Nine hours into the invasion, momentum has begun to shift in Nova Scotia. Though fighting remains in the underground, significant ground has been taken back against the invading forces of PEACE GC by the Canadian defenders. This shift is consistent with their strategy of holding back until the later hours of the day to mount the counterattack. However, with the new day approaching, another round of fighting can be expected.

The next 4 hours could prove key, as the Canadians will hope to push PEACE back as far as possible before the new day breaks. If PEACE is able to keep the fight in the underground, it will raise questions of whether Canadian and allied forces have the firepower to make any further ground in the final 11 hours against a renewed assault from PEACE GC. This will especially be the case if a new front is opened in Newfoundland by Hungarian forces.

In the United Kingdom, a Scottish rebellion was begun earlier today by Scotsmen disgruntled with the United Kingdom's decision to hand the territory over to Hungary. The rebellion has thus far failed to make any significant level of ground, remaining merely in the outskirts of Scotland. However, the movement, which emphasizes setting an independent course driven neither by Hungary or the United States, could gain legs if Hungarians open a new front in Canada - a nation the United Kingdom remains allied to. The Austrian Independent will continue to follow these stories as they develop.
